There are no stamps indicating that they were made in China.

If you open them wide enough, do they cut line similarly to scissors?

It's a pair of long nose tweezers, not a pair of long tweezers. scissors are not an option

What is the maximum opening size for these? Will they be able to grasp a piece of wood that is 1/4 inch thick? I've had enough of hot glue burning my fingers. ?

They'll open wide enough for a 1/4-inch piece of wood, but you'll have to close it yourself. They won't be able to lock onto something so dense. When working with glue, I suggest using rubber finger tips. They're easy to use and can be found on Amazon.

Is the jaws' entire surface serrated or do they have a flat surface?

The jaws are serrated all the way down.

However, if you're looking for high quality, you'll be disappointed. They haven't been polished to a high shine, and the grinding around the finger loops is awful. They've been brushed to a dull sheen, as are most stainless steel tools. In fact, whoever rounded the edges of the finger loops by grinding them created some edges in the process (see photos: To see clearly, you may need to zoom in on the pictures). If the edges of the loop were on the inside, they wouldn't be sharp enough to cut you. That would be excruciatingly unpleasant, if not downright painful! The ones I got were, on the other hand, quite pleasant to use. I wasn't looking for perfection because I'll be using them to remove fish hooks from sharp-toothed fish mouths and perform other fishing-related tasks. I gave them five stars because I got exactly what I wanted for less than ten dollars. br>Another thing to keep in mind is that As expected, the hinge and tooth alignments are perfect.

Remover of choice for removing fish hooks

Fish hooks can easily be removed with this 7" forceps. It makes me so happy to have it. It made it less likely that I'd end up with hooks in my hands.

Let's face it, there are a plethora of hemostats available on Amazon from some of the most well-known brands

Those are good, but they're also pricey. I purchased six of these to use while fly fishing for trout and bass at the lake. They're ideal because they're long, making it easier and faster to remove the hooks (increasing the fish's chances of survival). They also don't rust and are fairly inexpensive.

Excellent for the intended purpose

I gave these four stars because I'm used to medical grade and they're a little rough in comparison. That doesn't change the fact that they're meant to be used for fishing. These are capable of completing the task.
