Here are some tips that may help. I assume the clamps are locked when you pull the hair, when you are using your dominant hand. To unlock the clamps one-at-a-time, using one finger at the time. Squeeze your thumb and finger together as you push your thumb forward and pull your finger toward you while holding them. Before you let the ear hair fall from the pup's ear, practice the maneuver a few times in your mind. You can get a feel for the action by watching. Once you are familiar with the maneuver, cleaning your ear will be effortless. Please let me know how this helps you feel more confident.

The 5 and 7 are both perfect for the job as I am a veterinary nurse and use them every day. Every day, at least five! It is just as good to get smaller ones as well. I am not sure if this was the case because the Golden handles indicate that these bandage scissors have tungsten on their blades. But since I have had them for almost 6 months, I have almost daily used them and I love them. It is also helpful to have a serrated edge.
If you want a sturdy tool at a fair price, these are a good choice. If you're buying surgical equipment, why do you shop.
There is no doubt in my mind that we have hemostats manufactured from much stronger steel in our OR.
I use them to hold thread for my beading projects since they are just the right size. The precision clamping was essential for me, and these did exactly as I needed them to. Despite their thinness, the devices are robust, well made, and sure to last for a long time.
I am a retired registered nurse who is currently nursing my sister who was run over by a truck (yes, really!). My goal was to facilitate dressing changes with the aid of tools. I was very pleased with these. Those bandage scissors were sharp and were effective. The clamps worked well for retrieving dressings that slipped into tunnels after they had been placed, and for placing collagen and alginate as well.
The crimping tool is used to reduce skin tags and then to trim them. I know, it sounds barbaric but it's easy, and it is pretty painless as well. Use ice! Take some pain medicine.
These are just the right size for skin tags with their nice small points. It must have a locking feature as well.
I was very impressed with the fit and finish when they were delivered, very precise. They work very well as tweezers, much better than others I've paid more for that couldn't grab a hair because of poor quality, these appeared to be much better. My disappointment was immediate when the tip snapped off with little to no force when I tried to clamp down on anything substantial the first time. The breakage is exactly the same as what others have described. There is no need to add a picture. This is the same exact spot where the broken glass broke. If they offered a free replacement, I would have accepted, but I will buy another set since I am more focused on durability than precision at this price point.
I made it. On my desk there are various pieces of medical equipment It was a handy tool to have while whelping puppies and these hemostats were excellent additions.
