I've learned a lot about how to deal with diabetic wounds that take a long time to heal. Every week, I dealt with debridement, pain, and bleeding at the wound clinic where I spent two months. I've made the decision to stay away. I thought I was doing the right thing until I realized I needed to keep debriding the wound. I looked for debridement tools but couldn't decide which one to buy until I came across Derma Curette, which does exactly what it claims to do: debridement and keeping the wound clean. There were a variety of sizes available.
Although these knives have a sharpened edge, they are not "Extremely Sharp" as advertised. A razor blade or scalpel seems extremely sharp to me. br>As a result, they scrape more than they scrape. cutting.
My dermatologist gave me some curettes to help me keep plantar warts at bay that we couldn't get rid of. When my curettes became dull, I ordered these, and they work just as well as my dermatologist's, especially if I soften the skin beforehand with a hot shower/soak and/or regular topical medication use.
Although it is advertised as having "extremely sharp" cutting capabilities, this instrument is neither sharp nor cutting. In fact, it's so dull that it only serves to pull the sidewall of my diabetic ulcer flesh apart even more, aggravating the wound. Miltex Curettes are the only true sharp curettes that can be used for dermaplaning, but they must be purchased with a health care certificate. I'm going to try to get a refund for these because they were falsely advertised.
I worked as a dermatology nurse and am now retired. I was looking for a way to get rid of small keratosis, and this was exactly what I needed. The curette is razor-sharp and effective.
I didn't think I needed a large box of these, so I ordered a package of ten. I have no regrets about making this purchase. They're razor-sharp, removing calluses in small layers with ease. Use caution when applying pressure. The bonus is the replacement cap.
I scraped some rough skin from the declotte area using one of the ten. It was an excellent solution. I had to go over some areas several times. This is a good thing because it isn't overly sharp. I'll be using a different one in the near future. After that, I applied Vaseline and a bandage. This was only used in a few places.
My husband has a wound that requires the callus to be removed in order for it not to crack open and cause another wound. These are razor-sharp enough to trim the callus but not so much that they cut too deeply.
