When the wheels are unlocked, they have a good grip and run smoothly. It's a very practical bed. The issue is getting to this point in the first place. The assembly instructions do not tell you where to look for all of the cables, and some of them are hidden. The instructions show how to arrange the connections with numbers, but there are no numbers in the actual connection so you can match what is shown in the instructions. You will need a screwdriver to find them under some plastic covers either in the head or foot board. It takes some time for you to figure out what you should do. It's critical to emphasize that the bed is HEAVY, and that UPS drivers are not permitted to enter the building; in my case, I had to transport this massive 300-pound box from the first to the fifth floors. I had to hire a moving company to transport the box to my apartment via elevator. I had to pay a fee for two guys because the assembly is difficult and requires another STRONG person because the pieces are heavy. Once the bed was put together, I had a 6 foot neighbor assist me in turning it. br>It is necessary to emphasize that once everything is in place, this is an excellent gift for your loved one. My grandmother is 97 years old and had a brain hemorrhage recently. Also, please inform everyone that this type of bed is not available at any medical supply store. It's great to order from Amazon, and they always deliver quickly. All you have to do now is wait for it to arrive.
My 91-year-old mother, who lives in an assisted living facility and suffers from dementia, has fallen out of bed four times in the last two months. Thankfully, she didn't break anything, but if it happened again, she would most likely have, as bed rails are prohibited by state law. This bed turned out to be the perfect solution. Lowers to 7" off the ground, allowing her to simply roll out of bed onto the floor. This book comes highly recommended. The assembly time is approximately two hours. It can be assembled by one person, but two is preferable.
This is fantastic for my mother, who is 91 years old. She can make adjustments to the bed for comfort and help get in and out of bed. At 4 ft. It's fantastic to be able to lower the bed in.
My disabled sister can now get in and out of bed without the help of others. Normal beds are too high for her because she is so short.
