It has been about a month since I bought the transport chair. It has only been six months since I bought it. My 120 pound mother uses it to get to her bedroom upstairs. as my mom was walking down the stairs, the handle of her wheelchair snapped off out of left field. The bolts appear to be in good condition and the area is free from wear and tear. The only leg my mom has is her left leg. She is 74 years old. It would be a great help to me if she had a working transporter. The plan has only been in place for six months.
The walker is all I need now, and I can no longer go up and down It is even hard for her to step up onto a scale in the doctor's office. I took this out of the box and used it right away. This is a very sturdy material. Only thing I would recommend is building the chair so that the back folding handles are positioned lower down the back. As a shorter women, I don't quite get the use of them (they're a little high up for me) and so it's a little awkward, but other than that, I am glad I purchased this stair chair as it has been extremely useful.
We had to practice a couple of times to move her easily. However, once we got the hang of it, it was Having difficulty walking up and down stairs and going to doctors frequently is a problem for her. Having a safety gate makes it safer for her and the two of us to get into and out of the house with her.
The handle on top of the chair cannot lock in place, so lifting it up and down the stairs is crazy. The whole thing is so flimsy it could break really easily. My mom weighs 96 pounds and if she weighed more we could not I don't like seat belts made of plastic because they are fraying on the ends already and I have only used them twice.
Camping is among the reasons why I bought an EMS stair chair. With my camping van having double doors on the side, my 39 yr old son was able to get in and out of the van without any problem. We had 3 elderly women, 2 in front and 1 in back of our van. The extended bars infront made the glider feel a lot lighter. This made it harder for him to wheel around. The beach is next on our list of adventures. I had to replace the wheels on his wheelchair last time I took him to the beach because the wheels got full of sand. It is hard to imagine how this EMS chair could ever have escaped my attention It is something I would never do without.
As an invalid who could not climb stairs any longer, I bought this for my impaired mother. Compared to another I used as a firefighter and EMT, this one is higher quality and has more features. Our 135 lb passenger got along just fine despite the fact that the van wasn't as heavily constructed.
I would love to have a stress-free day!.
