Plastic, to be sure. It really works. During the day, I didn't need the bag.
Nobr>Only a valvebr>Allows your bladder to act as a bag.
Without a doubt. It will work in any activity you desire; I've had my suprapubic for 8 years with a valve and continue to do everything I used to do. Hike, swim, and exercise are just a few of the activities that you can do. The catheter does not have to limit your activity if you want it to and are physically capable.
Yes. They usually last three years in my experience. They last for 4 years before they begin to leak. When I change my suprapubic catheter every two months, I alternate between the two I have. I'll be able to keep them clean this way.

You can avoid wearing a leg bag during the day with this valve. When your bladder is full or on a regular basis, you open the valve and empty into the toilet or urinal. The valve can be left open at night by attaching it to a large bag. My elderly father finds it difficult to open and close the valve, so I gave it four stars. It wouldn't be an issue if you didn't have any mobility or dexterity issues.
I agree with another reviewer who stated that the valve is too bulky and can easily show through or, worse, become entangled in clothing. I use the valve every day, without a bag, and it's held up well. I've never had a valve leak, jam, or open on me by accident. For such a simple piece of plastic, that's an impressive track record. I haven't had any UTIs since I started using the valve, and all I do at night is wipe it down with alcohol and put it in a clean plastic bag. I make use of a stat-based method. All I need is a lock to keep my SP in place, and that's all I need to keep the valve in place and reachable without taking off all my clothes. Although the product saves people from having to carry a bag of urine with them, I believe it could be better. It should be smaller and more discreet.
I get them for my 93-year-old grandmother. These are incredible. They're for my 93-year-old father, who is still active despite wearing an indwelling catheter 24 hours a day, seven days a week. What a difference these Flip-flops have made in my life. Flo valves have improved his quality of life because he can now feel when his bladder is full and simply goes to the bathroom, opens the valve, and urinates as if he were going to the bathroom. He had cut back on his exercise previously due to the weight of the bags. He was also having bleeding episodes that required him to visit the hospital. He predicted that the bags would drag. They were uncomfortable for him no matter how much I tried to adjust them. He's made use of the Flip- Flo has been wearing valves for over a year and hasn't had a single bleeding episode, and he's back to his old self. And. He'll be able to wear his shorts without feeling self-conscious again. Never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever.
It's used for bladder training and ease of use.
I bought this for my 93-year-old father, and he says it has given him back his life. He was having trouble with a silicone catheter that would occasionally leak. He won't have to carry a bag during the day thanks to this handy device. I can't express how delighted he is.
Then I tried it with a condom-style catheter, and it wouldn't let me urinate freely! It seemed as if the internal valve was stuck 3/4 closed and I knew it was 100% open as I had checked before putting it in the end of the catheter! Don't waste your money; I'm glad I only bought one so I didn't lose any more!.
The flip-flop is ideal for seniors or anyone who has to live with a catheter. The flo valve allows you to be mobile while remaining discrete, i. e. Except for your partner, no one needs to know you use a catheter. You can do almost anything you want as long as you keep track of your time. It works for me, even though I am 91 years old.
a typical catheter- tip connection, with a fairly large 180 degree stopcock (up is closed, down is open), easier to work with with limited mobility than other models, and certainly easier to modify. It's a little bigger than some models, but the outlet end is made of silicone rather than hard plastic, which makes it more comfortable to wear. There are no latex or metal parts that I can see or identify. I would purchase this item again.
