They leak because they don't drain properly, and I believe they're just cheap. I changed my bags the other day, as I do every week. I've never had a problem before, but the first day they leaked from somewhere, and I thought it was the valve, which I checked, but it soaked my jeans, so I changed. They leaked again on the second day. That wasn't the case because I double-checked the valve. After that, I discovered that the bag had leaked on its own. This item is more expensive than the others, but don't take their word for it.
I was looking for a disposable leg bag that was not too expensive. This is a large, heavy-duty vinyl bag with the standard leg straps, and the price was reasonable for weekly disposal. Because there isn't a tube included, you'll have to purchase one separately. The twist drain valve is adequate for clear liquids, but the spout has a built-in strainer. Because semi-permanent ostomies are inconvenient (and unsanitary) for ostomy users, they may find this inconvenient (and unsanitary). Solid materials, such as barrier hydrocolloids, can easily clog the valve spout and are difficult to remove without the use of tweezers or a fine-pointed object. It's nice to know they're available, but they're not my first choice.
Do not purchase these as they are leaking. Maybe that's why they're so inexpensive. The first one leaked, and I thought it was because I was twisting it too hard; the second one leaked, and I thought it was because I was twisting it too hard; and the third one leaked. I'm not sure if my box was defective or if they're all made poorly. A leaking bag is the last thing anyone wants. I'm hoping I'll be able to get my money back. I'm not going to use it any longer.
It's challenging to open and close a twist drain. It also leaks as it gradually opens with the movement of clothing. Also, hoses are not included, nor are they available for purchase separately. I won't be buying anything else.
The bags aren't as big as I thought they would be.
The only thing I don't like about it is that the straps could be wider to help them stay in place.
Then there's a leakage of urine. Some totes are functional. Some people don't mind, but when the valve opens, I'm tired of doing laundry.
similar to the discharge valve It is less difficult to use than the other valve type.
