The versatility is far greater than I had My dad actually took this thing into a gradual entry pool at a resort and right into the ocean! Despite the size of the wheels, they are large enough for them to roll easily through shallow beach sand and worked perfectly The beach sand was too deep for me to walk in. In the past, dad would mostly just sit around now he walks around the block and even walks a few miles a day at the resort.
