It's simple to accomplish, but you must act quickly! Using hairspray, liberally coat the cane handle, then quickly slide the form grip onto the handle. Because the grip will be stuck in place once the hair spray dries, do it all at once.
Yes, that is correct. It's made of a dense foam that's still comfortable to grip while also being built to last a long time; I've had mine for over three years. It is something I would strongly suggest.
I believe that a person who is opposed to something is called an anti-social person. Although a bacterial wipe would be preferable, a damp cloth will suffice. Because it's foam, you don't want to soak it or leave soap behind.
1" diameter on the inside On most standard canes, this is fairly common.

The VA has a bariatric heavy duty cane that I ordered specifically for me. My son had "helped" it come off in less than a few months because the original grip was never fully on there. I then start looking for ways to get the original replaced through the VA, the MFG, pharmacies, and prosthetics facilities, but to no avail. I had been waiting months to feel confident enough to order a replacement handle when I came across this one. I wanted to try something different since I was getting a new grip, so I went with the OEM, which was a rubber unit. I'm so glad I went with the foam grip over the original; it's so much better. Regardless of what you do, the installation will be difficult, but I discovered a trick that made it go by quickly: instead of using regular water, use hand sanitizer. It will lubricate in the same way that water does, but it will evaporate faster and leave no residue. I hope this information is useful, and I was not compensated in any way for writing this review. I'm just a vet who wants to help other people. (at least in this instance LOL).
The grip was soft and comfortable, but that's about all I have to say about it. Putting the cane on was a challenge. The plastic disc with the hold string at the base of the grip kept popping off after about 5 days of use, and I misplaced it. Furthermore, the section of the grip where the hold string used to be has split and is now hanging. I really wanted to return it, but I didn't keep the packaging. This was the most dreadful Amazon purchase I'd ever made. It's a complete waste of time.
The wrist strap, which keeps the cane from falling when I need my hands free, was the most appealing feature for me. This wrist strap, on the other hand, serves no purpose in two ways. The size of the loop, which is about 5 inches long and 4 inches wide, was the first thing I noticed. I have several canes with factory installed wrist straps attached to the original hand grips that would be appropriate for a small child's hand and wrist. The length and width of these adult-sized straps range from 6. 25 to 6. 75 inches. With a range of 5 to 8 inches, and a maximum of 7 inches. The most widely used measurement is 5 inches. Even if this grip is purchased for a small child's cane, there is a second issue: The wrist strap isn't securely fastened to the grip. With the tiniest tug, e. g. , it slips right out. , trying to put it to use. So this ridiculously flimsy connection risks the cane falling or the strap getting lost; the grip itself, though oddly shaped, appears to be capable of working without the strap. However, I did not attempt to install it due to serious design flaws. I immediately returned it to Amazon and replaced it with a much more affordable grip.
It has a nice shape and appears to stay in place well. If you don't know how to do it, it can be difficult. On the side where I was installing it, I used compressed air to blow it open just enough to slide it on. If you don't have access to compressed air, hair spray will help you slide it on. USE HAIRSPRAY ONLY AFTER IT HAS DRIED- If you don't, there's a chance it'll slide around and your hand will fall off.
I wet the inside of the grip according to the instructions, and it fit my cane perfectly. In the end, the plastic plug didn't quite fit. So I just used the one that came with my cane when I first got it. I am extremely happy. A fantastic grip with a contoured and cushy feel. I absolutely adore it.
br>Easy to set up, and it motivated me to clean up my cane on the inside. out. If it wears out, I won't hesitate to replace it.
My cane now has a new, more comfortable grip. To help the handle wiggle on smoothly, apply a drop of Dawn and a little water to it.
