Questions & Answers

Is it brushed nickel with a peened finish?

The color is brushed nickel, and the entire bar has a slight brushed texture. Two secure mounts are welded to the bar, and cover caps complete the look.

Is there a textured grip on the 30" model?

I didn't get a textured bar when I bought it. Keep in mind that studs are typically spaced 16 inches apart. As a result, a 30 inch bar cannot be installed flat to attach to the studs; however, it can be installed at an angle to attach to the studs. If you want to lay it flat and attach it to the studs, get a 36 inch bar. In my case, I could not locate the studs on my bathtub wall, so I ordered a 30 inch bar. The attachment screws on this bar are hidden behind flange covers. The attachment screws on some bars are left exposed because they don't come with flange covers. It's not a very appealing setup. 30 inch bars with flange covers were unavailable at our local Home Depot.

is one of the sizes 25 or 1. For the 24", do you have both sizes listed in your ad?

I'm looking for a size 1.

Is the SMA1005CH secure mount included with the Moen R8932P grab bar? Is it possible to buy both and have them work together?

Unlike the SMA1005CH, the R8932P only comes with a round plate. The bar, on the other hand, is threaded through the moveable plate, which is secured to a stud with screws. The plate is snatched up by a beauty ring. If a stud is available, the R8932P's mounting unit provides an extremely secure mount. br>Because I assume you don't have a stud, I'd direct your second question to Moen.

SecureMount anchors are not included
3/5

You'll have to pay an additional $12 per anchor for this! I don't have anything negative to say about the bar, but the information provided here is extremely misleading. The SecureMount anchors are not included. Yes, it comes with wood screws, but they'll only come in handy if you have studs exactly where you need them. which is unlikely to be the case, particularly for bars that are not multiples of 12" in length. The SecureMount anchors perform admirably. Both drywall and synthetic marble-based products have been used. if you've got the right one They're 25" hole saws that are simple to use, secure, and well-designed (they even have integrated gaskets for mounting in the shower). In less than an hour, I was able to install four bars: two in drywall and two in synthetic marble. SecureMount anchors took 5 hours to set up. However, the SecureMount anchors will set you back $20 per pair, which is a bummer considering they are included with the grab bars. 5 stars for a good grab bar, minus 2 stars for misleading descriptions and, as a result, an overall price that is misleading.

The grab bar is appealing to the eye and performs admirably
5/5

Wow! This bar is great for wet areas because of the "peened" section. This is what I put in our master bathroom shower. Even when the bar is wet, the "peened" section provides excellent grip. The grab bar is appealing to the eye and performs admirably. On the long shower wall, a 36-inch Grab Bar was installed, and on the short (below the shower head) wall, a 24-inch Grab Bar was installed. If you're drilling holes in ceramic tile to install the grab bar, make sure you use a diamond-tipped drill bit. I made use of two (2).

For horizontal installation on 16 inch-wide surfaces, this product is ideal
5/5

I began this project with a 36" grab bar from a big box store (32 inch bars were simply not available in any brick and mortar store, let alone online). Because the studs were spaced 16 inches apart, I knew I'd have to position the 36" bar on a diagonal. The resulting angle, however, was far too steep to be useful in a standalone shower. The diagonal might have made sense if there had been a tub/shower combo. As a result, I was relieved when Amazon was able to ship me this 32" bar so quickly. I was able to attach each end of the bar with two screws, which is the same quality as the big box brand. I've included a picture of the installation tools I used. Professionals will probably roll their eyes, but hey, if you have them and they help you do a better job more comfortably, use them. If you don't have a hammer drill, I wouldn't recommend buying one for this project, but it did cut down on the time it took me to drill through the tile. This was my first time using the C. Magnetic stud finder by Hanson. It couldn't find the nail through the tile, but it did so quickly on the wall above it, so I used a 4 foot level to extend the line from the stud finder's pointer down the length of the stud over the tile, which took about half an hour.

I'd buy it again if I needed a grab bar
5/5

Six screws are included with the purchase of this high-quality grab bar. br>As an occupational therapist, I frequently advise people to install grab bars in their homes. When mounting horizontally (based on wall studs 16" on center framing construction), one issue I've noticed with many grab bars is that the consumer purchases bars that don't fit the stud distance, necessitating toggle-style installation. a non-style anchor(s) for mounting studs A 42" grab bar is an example of this. br>Based on a 16" distance between stud centers, this grab bar should fit. br>According to the directions on the sheet- "With an innovative design that features multiple slots for screws, allowing secure connection with three screws into the wood stud at any angle, the patented Secure Mount design (of this particular grab bar) makes grab bar installation easier and more secure. " "br>When installing a horizontally oriented grab bar for a specific person, I use this floor to grab bar distancing method as a general rule of thumb- Wrist height is what I use. Allow the person to stand with their arms at their sides and stand straight. The crease on the inside of the wrist should line up with the top of the grab bar, giving a 15° /- angle. when gripping the bar, and at the elbow This is just a general rule of thumb that I use, and it may vary depending on how many people are using it, the individual's posture, or other physical characteristics. I hope this has been of assistance:.

Moen produces a good product, but Amazon doesn't seem to mind if it is damaged during shipping
4/5

A grab rail is difficult to go wrong because of its design. It's fine and strong, and it has a nice appearance. The grab bar's shipping (Amazon's packaging) is another story. "Well, this is very solid steel, so I'll just place the item loose in the box without any cushioning or bubble wrap," I imagine the person who placed the grab bar in the shipping box thought. "However, it is clear to me that shipping boxes are sometimes slammed down hard during transit, and this was clearly the case with this shipment. " At one end of the grab bar, one of the clean-looking caps had been severely dented. The caps are made of a much thinner gauge steel than the rest of the package. They don't have to be as strong as the grab bar because they're only there to hide the screw hardware that secures it to the wall. I didn't complain or demand that a replacement be shipped because I needed to put the bar into service right away because my wife was coming home in a wheelchair and I needed to prepare the bathroom – so I didn't complain or demand that a replacement be shipped. Instead, I spent some time with pliers and a hammer reshaping the cap so that it would fit properly and cover the screws again. It isn't attractive in any way. The ding is mostly hidden by the fact that bath towels are usually hung on the grab bar, but it still exists. The rest of the bar, as well as the cap on the opposite end, appears to be in good condition.
