FYI: It is a V977, according to the Amazon description, which received the highest rating from Consumer Reports. The Vicks VNT200, on the other hand, is the model I received.
It has a temperature of Celsius. While the thermometer is turned off, press and hold the button. The "F" on the bottom of the display should indicate that it is reading in Fahrenheit. To change the F to a C, press the button again, and the thermometer should now read in Celsius. I believe the instructions for doing so are included in the package.
Press and hold the start button until the words "Lo" and "C" appear on the screen, then release the button. You'll notice that "C" becomes "F" or "F" becomes "C."
This worked for me "Item 354602"br>br>Hold down the "mode" button with the thermometer turned off until the hourglass appears and F or C appears. Continue mashing Mode and then press the Power button; each time you press Power (while still holding Mode), it will toggle F or C. When you've reached the desired setting, turn off both buttons.

Here's a picture of it. However, this is not what you will receive!.
Accurate readings are extremely difficult to come by. Will take a temperature three or more times in order to get three or more different readings. It's possible that this is due to user error, but if so, it's far too difficult to use. I plan to buy another one.
Three consecutive temperature readings result in three different temperatures. None of which correspond to readings taken in a hospital. This one-star product isn't worth your time.
Vicks Model: *
br> The model number is V977, but it isn't the one you're looking for. I didn't get an accurate reading from it. If you buy one, keep in mind that it is not a Vicks model V977 thermometer.
It is much more enjoyable for my children than the ones in which they are required to remain still. You know, the ones that have to sit under the tongue (what three-year-old wants to do that?). ) and those that must be worn beneath the armpit (uncomfortable). ) I have seen some other people reviews on here and honestly no offense, but I 100% think if you are getting weird readings it has to be user error if you To activate it, simply click once. Click again to begin taking a reading, and wait until it beeps to indicate that it is finished. Viola! A few degrees in the wrong direction? So what! When you take a thermometer twice in a row, does it ever give you the same exact reading? It is, without a doubt, an excellent thermometer. I would suggest it.
I found this to be true in consumer reports. I'm sweating because I can't get it to read anything higher than 96!.
My three children are under the age of four, and because they attend daycare, they are frequently sick. We've gone through a lot of thermometers (mostly Vicks brand, but some generics as well), and we've never been able to get consistent readings. We'll take three or four readings in a row, each of which will differ by two or three degrees! So we've been doing rectal temperatures the entire time, which shouldn't be necessary in a three-year-old, and we've been desperately looking for another thermometer that we think is accurate enough. This was the last one that suited my needs. While there is some variation, it is not significant, and I believe the majority of it is due to user error. The more we use it, the more accurate it appears to become (probably because we are becoming more proficient at it). However, after only a week of use (and a LOT of use - see below), It's now our primary thermometer because all three of my children are sick with the flu.
This is very appealing to me. It appears to be extremely precise, as well as quick and simple to read. These are my two gripes:
1. It beeps. This type of thermometer would be ideal for taking the temperature of sleeping or tired children, but it beeps (just like any other digital thermometer). With all of the lighting and flashing, it seems unnecessary to me, but that's just my opinion.
2. It can be difficult to take the temperature properly on a fussy baby who turns her head a lot, resulting in inaccurate results. On a still/stable forehead, however, this thing is fantastic!.
