I purchased this enamel coated magnet wire in order to construct AM loop antennas. If you want to make your own to greatly improve AM radio reception, look for a 450 pf air variable capacitor on Amazon, as well as some wires with little alligator clips on each end, and a 16-inch pizza box. Wrap 17 turns of magnet wire around the edge of the pizza box, side by side (no winding overlap). To keep the wire in place, wrap duct tape around the box's edge and over the wire. br>br>For full inductance, connect each end of the magnet wire loop to the capacitor and use the alligator clip wires to connect both sections (gangs) of the capacitor together. The metal frame of the capacitor is wired with one wire. Choose a very weak station and tune the coil with the capacitor for perfect reception across the entire US AM broadcast band. For this purpose, there are numerous loop instructions available on the internet.

First and foremost, this wire has a slightly larger diameter than standard 24 AWG, so if you're using a computerized coil winder, you'll need to account for that. br>br>Aside from that, this is ROBUST stuff. I've had a few coils sitting in dirty seawater for a few months and they haven't deteriorated in the least. The initial prototype electromagnet I built has the same kg/m and current as it did the day it was built. br>br>5 stars is well deserved, and I will be purchasing more.

The item was packaged in a lovely box with bubble wrap. I used a digital micrometer as well as an analog gauge to determine the size. The size is the same as it says in the description. br>I had previously used Emtel's other gauges, all of which were of excellent quality. Is it something I'd go out of my way to get? Without a doubt!.

Everything was fine with the package, which was well packed. I use the wire in one of my nephew's science projects, and it works great. br>Even so, the weight appears to be a little more than 1 pound based on my calculations because I used too much wire. br>I highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a high-quality item.

El carrete de plástico llegó roto just where the agujero comes in to enganchar the alambre, as if it had been smashed, but the missing trozo of the carrete was not inside the envase, implying that they sent it to me with that damage from the factory. I can fix it by making an agujero with the cautin, but it's concerning that the factory sends its rights to its customers, despite the fact that it would have cost them less to use another carrete without the damage. In all seriousness, it was not the quality I had hoped for, and I had been incorrectly enrolled.
