With my caliper, I measured 3125". RC- RC- RC- RC- RC- RC- RC- RC- RC- RC- RC- RC- RC- RC 5/16" bore x 5/8" O. 031 Mild Steel, Black Oxide is a perfect fit for the shafts I have. br>br> The shafts I have fit this coupler snugly, almost to the point of zero clearance (before you tighten the screws). I'm not sure if I have 8mm or 5/16" shafts; I pulled a few from a printer cartridge. The length of my shafts is 0. I was very impressed with this coupler because it is 3125" long, which is exactly 5/16" long, and it fits perfectly. It isn't at all loose. I intend to use this to connect two shafts in order to extend the shaft of an electric motor. The quality of the fit and finish is superb. P. br>br>P. br>br>P. br>br>P. I ordered an aluminum 5/16" coupler from a different eBay seller in the United States, and it will not fit at all; it is slightly too small to slide over the shafts I have. This is how I add a 12-foot extension to my house. In my home lab, I attached a 12-inch stainless steel rod to an overhead stirrer. I'm glad I was able to find it and order it from Amazon!.
