Can you tell me if this comes apart into two As far as I can tell, it doesn't. What is the best way to wrap it around something? It is impossible for me to slide from the end down. ?

An item like this can be used to connect two shafts with irregular shapes, one 5/8 round shaft and the other As each shaft was pushed into a bore, then the screws tightened to clamp it into place, it was designed this way. As far as I know, it cannot be separated.
