I bought a variety of couplers; the flexible ones have a spiral cut like a spring in the center, which allows them to work even if the staffs are slightly off. However, I do not believe the flexible ones are what is depicted there.

I have a Tevo Tarantula with a carbon fiber kit, linear rails, dual z motors controlled by the board individually, toothed idlers, a glass bed, marlin firmware, and tensioners on both belts. The printing of the calibration cubes was excellent. I decided to give it a try because it was inexpensive and my frame was fairly plumb and square, so I figured why bother with a flex coupler? Despite measuring and leveling everything after installation, this gave my cube an almost perfect z wobble pattern. It was gone as soon as I returned to the flex and printed a cali cube. If you're trying to get rid of z banding, this will almost certainly make things worse. If you want your connection to be more stable, i3 prusa type 3d printers should be avoided.
Because the quality of the machined parts isn't very good, I only gave it four stars. Set screws with burrs and a rough running pattern, but they're straight. These were used in place of the flex coupler. I had never been able to get my lead screws to run semi-straight until I installed these on my Z axis. Of course, for these to work, the gantry must be precise; otherwise, the Z rods and/or the lead screw will bind. I'm a satisfied customer right now.
There's so much play in it that tightening it even slightly will strip the screw. It's almost as if they used a metric allen wrench to install a standard screw head. In either case, new set screws will be required, indicating that this item is defective.
When compared to spiral spring couplers, it eliminates backlash. My bearings were replaced with IGUS Drylin bearings, which are slightly more resistant than standard steel linear bearings. When using couplers with the spiral cut in them, it's enough to cause unwanted backlash. These eliminated the backlash and improved the accuracy of the prints.
For my mini cnc, it works perfectly. br>br>My set was missing one screw, and I never received a response from the seller about it, so I'm disappointed; however, I only require a partial set.
The set screws slipped off a couple of times, but otherwise it was a good product. If the screws were coated in loctite (or something similar) from the factory, I'd give it five stars. It appears that some oil drained down the lead screw (which will happen!). ) and undid the set screws, causing them to come loose. Anyway, as a petrolhead, I keep a stockpile of Loctite Blue (and similar) on hand, so the product is now functional.
I'm blown away by how well these work, and I'll be ordering more as soon as I need them:.
The pieces were well-made and functioned as expected. I'm not sure how else to put it.
