This is determined by the engine's crankshaft and the pump's shaft size. The pump is probably 13 gpm on a 22 ton splitter, and the engine is most likely 5-hp. Yes, it should work with 9 horsepower; double-check your measurements, though.

I'm not sure how this product has such a high rating. I bought two of these so far and have only used them for about half an hour. The rubber spider quickly wears out, and the metal-on-metal jaws quickly wear out as well. The first one was ruined this way because we didn't realize the spider had disintegrated after about 30 minutes of use on our log splitter. I purchased a replacement and installed it with great care to ensure everything was in working order. It lasted about 30 minutes, after which the rubber spider was once again ruined. Obviously, the rubber spiders should be made of a more durable material. I've ordered new sprockets for it, and we'll be reverting to the chain and sprocket coupler system that was previously used.
COVID- Dirty Hands Tools appears to have taken a beating from 19 just as my hydraulic pump's jaw couplers failed. Because I couldn't get any parts from the manufacturer, I decided to order this set because the shaft sizes were identical. These couplers have a slightly smaller outside diameter and thickness than OEM couplers, but this does not appear to be a problem. I was able to split the last cord of wood I had in the yard, and the coupler appears to be in good working order so far. I ordered a second set just in case I needed it.
Wow! These guys aren't slackers; I ordered on Thursday and received it on Saturday. Lovejoy of high quality. On my wood splitter, it works perfectly! They also sell Long Flange rivets, which I see on their website. Lexar Industries is a company I will return to. It doesn't get any better than that; they had exactly what I needed in the shaft size I needed as a bundle package. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> September 23rd, 2017br>I've split over 5 cords of wood with this Lovejoy on my splitter with no issues, and it's still going strong!.
We initially ordered the incorrect size, but the company allowed us to keep it and replaced it with the correct size.
We ordered the wrong size, so make sure you read all of the descriptions before ordering, but aside from that, I think it's a fantastic part.
Excellent product with a fair price and high quality. Because the set screws in each half are different sizes for some reason, I gave it a three instead of a five. One of the set screws is an unusual size, and I had trouble finding the right Allen Wrench to fit it. I can't think of a logical explanation for the disparities in size.
Easy to install, super sturdy, and much more snug than the OEM part.
I found exactly what I needed. My 42-inch blower attachment was replaced with an exact match.
