The drill press I have is 30 years old, equipped with two Even though I tried to fix the problem, the belts kept slipping. Old machines like this are cast iron and they don't really make them the way they used to, at least not for a reasonable price, so I wanted to restore it to working condition. This PowerTwist belt has completely transformed my old drill machine. Now, I can drill through a 1/2' piece of steel with a 1/2" bit and not have a single slippage. My hole-making abilities return with the addition of a little lubricant. You did a great job here,

It takes only one day for these belts to arrive! The times are crazy man, the times are crazy. These belts work great for folks who use them for walking around town, and they are adjustable to whatever length. They are strong, offer good "grip" to resist slippage, and are quiet too! We will see how long they last, since they are kind of pricey, but they are supposed to last long. I am extremely pleased with this purchase, and it was delivered the very next day after I ordered it.
In the end, I still had about 10" to install. Taking about ten minutes, the installation was completed. Adding this to the drill press made a huge difference in its smoothness. This belt had bumpy joints at its joints because it was very cheap. These drive belts have been used before and I knew they would be the best choice. There should be belts like these on every belt drive machine! I ordered a second package to upgrade the belt on my old Craftsman drill press. I had it installed by February 4, 2014. It's amazing the difference between the two! Changes are easy to make, and the mechanism works smoothly.
I bought a Harbor Freight 13" Bench Top Drill Press and it is terrific. The product is solid and has plenty of power, but the workmanship needed a lot of fine tuning to get it working right out of the box. This is a product that I would recommend.
It's great stuff, I've used it for over 20 years now, especially when you have a hard time measuring the length of a v-neck I recommend a belt if you need one! It really makes a difference if you install these because noise and vibration are drastically reduced, and the absence of memory makes it possible to run table saws, jointers, bandsaws, and drill presses more smoothly (which I have tried them out Confidently, of course.
It took all of a couple of minutes. The stock belts on my drill press weren't fitting well after I modified it. I bought these belts for my drill press. I found the installation process to be simple. The length of the clips necessary and the snapping of them together took only a few minutes to figure out. Before I bought these belts, it ran smooth so I cannot say that I noticed a noticeable difference in how it ran before. I had quality belts before, so it It was told to me by some friends that certain equipment can make a huge difference. In any case, they appear to stretch a bit over time. Removing a link takes no more than a minute, and you're good to go.
As I was using them on a 3HP lathe, I had vibration issues with the machine. These belts removed 90% of the vibration. The remaining issues are likely to be resolved by adding a 3-phase motor. *I have used the green belts from HD, but these are superior.
