This is the original John Deere. The M86996 is not a replacement for the John Deere. A 32° angle Stens is intended by John Deere on the original model 265 An angle of 34° is the measure of number 054. This means that you cannot perfectly throw up out of gear and not change gears as a consequence. It is only possible to change gears if the engine is stopped. There is no logic in that.

I was supposed to get a Stens belt, but I got a Pix belt! That's a difference.
According to the belt listing, this belt would be suitable for my John Deere 116 with a 38-inch mower deck. However, it was several inches too long for the mower. I found the right belt at a local tractor supply store.
