Questions & Answers

Could you please make sure that you have the tension gauge available in 30-pounds About 35 lbs. Do you have a capacity for deflection force?

A 35lb maximum capacity is significant, but I would not want to guess how accurate it will be!

Can you tell me what deflection force is?

It is customary to do this at midday One point deflection of 1/64" per inch of span corresponds to a force of about 1/16 of the actual tension of the belt. A tension gauge's stem can be used to read the deflection force, but make sure to slide the O-ring to get the proper reading If you intend to use the tool, be sure to reach back all the way. Using the inch scale on the barrel of the tool along with a straight edge, measure how much deflection is present. Please note that In order to use the barrel, you touch it and press on the It is possible to find the recommended belt tension from the manufacturer's table.

Does the tool have both the force and deflection scales etched into its body, or are the markings on labels applied to the tool?

Now, the markings appear on labels that are applied to the bottles. E, thank you for your interest. Company Name Atmus, Inc.

Is it used in a particular way?

It is my sincere hope that this will help. For my Ranger, I use Gates to ensure that the track tension is correct. Using a force of 10 pounds, place the straight edge on the track and press the gates down in the center of the straight edge. A track can be adjusted if it has more than 3/4 inch of slack. Is it Dave?

Don't limit yourself to the Internet
3/5

Despite the good idea, the complete failure of the construction makes the device useless. It is not engraved into the thin section of the shaft, but rather is simply a decal that indicates the pressure. This is achieved by removing the decal with the main cylinder when the gauge is used. In the end, the tool is of no use after the first usage. The item has been returned for a refund and something else will be found.

It's a great tension tester and the interface is simple
5/5

A squealing sound suddenly appeared in my Hyundai Elantra '04, causing me to replace all three drive belts - and the tensioner pulley attached to the air conditioning belt. I found the bulk of the work a bit tedious, but the manual indicated that I needed to use 22lbs of force to tighten the belts to various tension measurements. When I tightened the belts to the point where they felt tight, I thought of what that means. I started hearing the squeaking of my belts again after 2 days of cold. After looking for what kind of tool would tell me if my belts are tensioned correctly, I came across this device. I have used gates belts in the past and have lived with them very well, so I thought I would give it You hold the plastic part of this tension tester between the palms of your hands, then press down on the center of the belt. I used a straight edge to measure and pushed the rubber gasket (on the thicker part of the tensioner) up between 8 and 10 inches. It is either 11 mm or 12 mm For each belt I adjusted the tensioner by 15mm (depending on what the belt called for) and pushed the gasket until it was level with the As I looked at the small gasket, I could tell that I'd exerted more than 15 pounds of pressure. For example, if I have to reach 22 and weigh 15 pounds, I would tighten the belt and see if it made a difference. Likewise, if it was a higher reading, I would have the opposite reaction. I found that I had under-estimated my calorie intake by 25 grams relative to my body weight The drive belts on my vehicles were all tightened. As a result of using those, I can fully trust that the tension is correct and that there are no squeaks.

Make sure you have read the instructions
4/5

In some articles I've seen, this tool has been criticized This is likely to be the result of people who do not understand how it's used. As long as it's used correctly, it does the job well. It would have been better if the markings were laser-etched, not stickers. As far as the rest goes, I'm pleased.

Nothing but a waste of time! Can half a star be awarded? The reviews should have been read before purchasing, regardless of how well I thought I would like this product

When I ordered this 'tool' with 2-day delivery because I needed it ASAP, I was disappointed before I had even received it. Similarly to what seemed to be stated in other reviews, the sticker measurement lines peel off when Nothing but a waste of time!.

It appears that it did not pass quality assurance
3/5

The product looks to be made in China and does not appear to have passed quality control. My original ruler did not have stickers, and I am sure it was not created by the same individual. There were plenty of typos and poor writing in the instructions. It is not even possible to put straight pounds and inches readings on the scale. It looks like someone slapped a sticker on and then covered it with Scotch tape. In my opinion, the belt tension pen from Browning would be the best choice. The price is also cheaper. I would say it's the same thing, but I wouldn't say it had a black background and an orange oval This is an example of a ring that is difficult to see. It would have been nice to have had a colored O- I've made it easier to see by putting it on the ring. My mind is blown that Gates would put their name behind this and charge so much money. Hopefully soon you'll be able to pick up this product at Harbor Freight for $5.

It is of poor quality and its accuracy is questionable
3/5

Tool is not acceptable for tasks under 10 lbs however, it is most helpful for tasks over 15 lbs, but that is another matter. In addition to being inaccurate and short-term, stick-on labels are questionable in terms of their longevity. There is no way to set the force with the caliper, but you can set the deflection.

The adhesive tape scale is not very well suited for adhering to most surfaces. A scale was present on the product when I received it, and I returned it and will not purchase it.

This is an accurate, simple explanation
5/5

Setting up a drill press with tandem belts was made much easier by using this guide. It is helpful to use a straight edge to gauge the My understanding of it seems to be accurate, but I don't really have a good method for determining.
