There is a bit of confusion in the description. As with the tension scale, the deflection scale is on a sticker. In the case of heavily used belts, depending on how many you tension per year, you might get a lifetime of use out of it.
There is no doubt that they This is not an etched picture. Wearing them off can cause them to lose their effectiveness. I am aware that the numbers can wear off over time if they are used extensively.
The answer is yes. As well as the sheave and belt gauges, I would recommend getting a set of those as well.
On the tension checker are imprinted the span length and the force needed to press the belt. The paper with the tool gives recommendations for setting the tension checker. There are rings on the checkerboard.

The scales are not stickers that become worn out over time they are stickers that adhere to the scales. In addition, I paid twice as much for this as a comparable Gates tensioner made in china since this Browning product was clearly stated as being made in the United States. I find it difficult to believe that Browning's product is made in the United States, based on the similar quality to the half-priced Gates product. Basically, this product looks like it's been changed from scales to stickers. So buyers beware. As a result, you would have to pay twice for a product that will wear out if you bought it.
As we noted in one of the previous reviews, the numerical scales for this tension checker are cut into the metal, instead of being printed on The supplier stated that since this was a high-quality product, they did not recommend using the scale for extended periods of time. The scale I received had plastic adhesive labels, which will not hold up after Don't be foolish! The less expensive competitive product would have been my choice if I had.
For my wood chipper, this item was purchased primarily for tensioning the belt. In my experience, it works great for this, and I believe it should be equally effective in most scenarios as long as you have adequate access to position the machine appropriately.
Because I received it as used or possibly an open item, I only gave it one star.
I am satisfied with how the unit performs. To set the belt tension on my new Quimby air compressor, I used this device. This scale is not as accurate for belts that require lower tension due to scale resolution, but lets you know roughly what you need to know. The non-government sector It may be an issue with heavier use, and painted (sticker) markings. I was able to use this application for my home mechanic. My opinion is that it is about $30 too expensive for an inexpensively made product. They obviously have my money for what I thought would be an expensive tool that I associated with a trusted brand- The Brownings. I was disappointed by that. I guess this is the sign of the times. Products that are average in quality.
It works well. Yes, it is a sticker, but it seems to be holding up well.
This belt tensioner is great when you need it for commercial applications as well as for HVAC systems.
Design and construction of a good product.
