It makes no sense, they are ball bearings, as long as they are the right size you should be able to use them. They work great as mixers in hobby paint and are very easy to use.
You can count on them not rusting since they're stainless steel.

To ensure I was being extra careful, I tried a simple test on them before using them in an expensive paint, but I'm glad I did, since you can't be too careful. Stainless steel shouldn't rust, but those definitely did. To put it simply, these would have damaged my paint.
When pie crust is being baked, they are supposed to hold it down. It is not possible to use these ball bearings since they are so tiny. Pictures of the flowers are much larger than the ones shown here. My disappointment is great! That was a waste of time.
This is the ideal size and weight to add inside a fluid acrylic bottle or liquid watercolor bottle so shaking is more effective (specifically Dr. PH Martin's Radiant Watercolors and their liquid acrylic bottles, and Liquitex acrylic ink). A wide variety of spray bottles can be sized to fit inside them, including large Inks based on dye, such as Dylusions inks. Reinker dropper bottles are too small for them (such as the ones reinkers are packaged.
The bearings are far superior to others that we've used in the past.
Mixing small jars of model paint with this was just what I needed.
It is of good value.
Small paint containers are ideal for holding these shaker balls in. I paint miniatures, so they are perfect.
You and many others may find this confusing, but I needed a marker for a coffee pot lid. You provided a good product at a competitive price and delivered it promptly.
