I honestly don't know because we try very hard to avoid all types of windows.br>However, it does splatter wood chips from tree bark, so it could break a window.
You could, but lead has a higher density, or weight per square inch, than steel. Also, if these are exposed to water, particularly salt water, they will rust.
It's 500, and I appreciate you informing me of the problem.

I spent a lot of time looking into and dismissing the light ceramic pie weights on the market. I struggled with math formulas to determine how many people would be needed. One bag of solely bearings weighs more than three pounds. 9 pounds! The so- The so-called "real pie weights" are only a few ounces, which is insufficient. Other pie weights with bearing chains are also small and light. The picture doesn't show a crust or a parchment liner, which would allow the balls to fill the pan completely. Ball bearings are said to be good for pie weights, though I haven't tried them yet.
I'm let down. My son's slingshot required ammo, so I bought some. Although the description stated 500 pieces, my son was skeptical when we received the order and sat down to count them. 350! Not 500!.
When I opened the package, I discovered that all of the balls had come loose from their plastic bag. The shipping envelope was heavily taped up, so I'm guessing that once the steel shot came out of its internal packaging, it started leaking out the shipping packing, ruining someone's day. So it was taped up, and all I got were 120 or so nice-looking steel balls. I've shot a few, and they're fantastic. You don't want to be on the receiving end of one. I placed an order for 1,000 units today, which should arrive in a proper container and contain somewhere around 1000 units.
They are appealing to me.
Pie weights are made with this.
These are fast-flying ammo because of their size. They fly extremely true as long as they are centered in the sling pouch. My sling shot is made out of a tree branch, but I'm sure they'll work even better with a well-made sling shot. I strongly advise you to buy this book.
The steel bearings are in a sealed bag that is free of rust.
The pie pan, the dough, the parchment paper, and these tiny ball bearings. Because they're quite heavy, they'll leave small indents depending on your dough. In a nine-layer cake, one bag is sufficient for one layer. a 5-inch pie pan Because it's a uniformly shaped, weighted object, it's probably good slingshot ammunition as well.
