These haven't been sharpened in any way.

I'm primarily interested in welding on stainless steel. What type of tungsten should you use? Is it really important?

They don't seem to be thoriated in the ones I got

The package does not state that these electrodes are thoriated, and my Geiger counter shows that they are not radioactive at all. They are of the red tip variety. What are they? I'm not sure.

Stupidity at its finest. Tungsten is a soft metal that will bend rather than snap if handled incorrectly. These don't sharpen well and weld poorly. I also do not believe that they contain the supposed 2% thorium because they do not make a Geiger counter with an alpha probe react as strongly as other brands of thori.
