Questions & Answers
Can be used with any welding machine.
You must clean the surface where the ground button makes contact, or the magnetic clamp will suffer from bad arching and may be damaged.
The magnet will work with any welder as long as the magnetic ground's center conductor makes adequate contact; however, I discovered that the spring pushing down on the center contact was not strong enough to make consistent contact.
If the center button makes a solid contact, it can be used as a welding ground electrode. However, the contact is not firm enough (due to a weak spring) to provide a good ground, particularly if the ground lead is dangling from the attachment point.

It's a strong magnet that holds, but the middle spring is too long, so you'll have to cut it to get the magnet to set flush and hold.
It's a lot easier to use now. When the work piece is larger than the spring clamp, it will hold it in place.
I punched a hole in a flat bar so that I could use my standard ground clamp on it while still having a clamp if needed. It's great for welding in situations where you'd normally have to tac a plate to clamp to and then clean up. Love it!.
As others have stated, the spring melts and ceases to function. It also picks up a variety of objects and dislodges them. Maybe for a super clean shop and light duty at most, but I wouldn't recommend it.
It's great for my steel welding table, auto frames, and a variety of other things I've tried it on.
This is the ideal ground for welding.
For multiple grounding locations, I attach these to my standard squeeze ground clamp. In a variety of situations, this is extremely useful. This set-up is something I would recommend to everyone.
The magnet is weak. It's not going to work.
