It received five stars because it did exactly what I needed it to do and was less expensive than any other option. It is. br>br> The pieces are a jumble and barely fit together, to say the least. If you're not a professional, however, it'll suffice; you get what you pay for. And I'm not going to spend $700 on a rigid set when all I want to do is build a shelf. Cutting oil is required because it cuts extremely aggressively and will not last long without it. br>br>Clamp: br>br> br>Because the clamp messes up the pipe, don't expect pretty results. Furthermore, none of the components line up perfectly, making it difficult to clamp down tightly. Thread dies: br>br> If you've never used one before, the arrow on the ratchet changes the direction it rotates, which I didn't realize at first and ended up doing backwards. I tried adjusting the dies with a pre-made template because I didn't think it was working. pipe thread was manufactured Because the holes were smaller than the dies, this proved to be impossible to achieve without filing away at the cutouts that held them. After all of that, it worked out, as can be seen in the photo above, which shows the result on half-inch pipe. br>br>I can't speak to the factory's precision because I adjusted it before realizing I was using it incorrectly. br>br>Cutter: br>br>Cutter: br>br>Cutter: br>This was the best part of the kit; it worked flawlessly. Simply take it easy at first.

When Texas froze over, this tool was no longer available. Even with prime, we were happy to wait the few days it took to get it; we mounted it on the work bench, and my husband was able to fix the pipes the same day.

A proper pipe thread with a taper is not cut by the die. Will not fit properly into a pipe coupling or elbow. If you decide to purchase this, best of luck. What you pay for is exactly what you get.
