Questions & Answers
Yes. Yes, though perhaps not as well as you would like. When I use undersized wire, I take a step back that is slightly more than double the required distance and fold the stand in half again. In most cases, this will solve the issue.

The one-piece design allows for good contact. It can be difficult to keep a thick gauge cable in place without wriggling out of it. I used a hose clamp to keep it in place, but I also soldered underneath the set screw to keep it in place. Clamp that is very useful It grounds my table, which makes me feel a lot safer.
The clamp's wire connection is solid and secure. As an electrician, I know that a good electrical connection makes everything work better; my welder isn't a 500 amp model, but lowering resistance makes for a better weld.
Replace your flimsy stamped steel ground clamp with a solid brass one. This one is reasonably priced and performs admirably.
The overall quality and spring tention are appealing to me. However, it has a 1/0 cable sleeve. So, I suppose that sums it up. I expect a 500 amp clamp to be 2/0 to 4/0 compatible when I purchase one. I was able to slam my 2/0 cable into it, however.
It's a tiny clamp. I had no idea that such a small clamp existed. I purchased a larger one and put it to use.
Clamp is extremely strong, possibly to the point of being excessively so. This clamp is a workhorse if you're doing a lot of amp work.
This product has a solid build, a strong grip, and ideal shaped jaws. I am very pleased with it.
