I was expecting a Tweco ground clamp and didn't give the small price difference between this site and another selling Tweco clamps much thought. It was more convenient to order from this menu. What arrived was of a different brand, with a gleaming finish, a silver pivot pin, and manufacturing ridges running down the inside of the jaws (perpendicular to the jaw teeth). The contact area is limited due to the ridges. They can be filed down, but I shouldn't have to, and this shouldn't be advertised as a Tweco brand ground clamp in the first place. br>br>It is still a ground clamp, so it has that. Using a 225 A machine. br>br>.

My clamp came in an "open box, new" condition, but now I understand why. It was clearly a return, and it was returned because the main clamping end was cast with a massive air bubble! With normal, intended use, it appears that the jaw's end will break catastrophically!.
It's way too early in the spring - Putting metal on requires two hands. Second, the cost is ridiculously high. It's available for $14 from HF Tools. After I purchased it, I discovered the truth.
This was purchased to add more ground to my low-cost Harbor Freight MIG welder (flux core). It was like night and day. Getting proper penetration on 3/16 or thicker steel was previously difficult for me. Even with a 50-foot extension cord, it isn't as smooth as butter.
This is a very deceptive advertisement. Although it appears that you will receive two clamps, you will only receive one of them. Re-reading the questions and the entire ad, there is no indication that the seller advertises the clamp as a single clamp; instead, customer comments indicate that you only get one. I was disappointed because I could have spent a little more and gotten two clamps for the price of one.
The clamp is adequate, but the spring is excessively heavy. I had to replace the spring with a lighter one so that I could open the clamp with just one hand rather than two.
Excellent replacement clamp, extremely strong, and highly recommended!.
