They work great in the field, and I'll be buying more when I run out. Brand that is very similar and at a great price!.
The 7014 welding rods arrived in excellent condition and function flawlessly. Thank you for your help; I'll be ordering again soon.
There's not much to expect from welding rods, except that they're made in the United States and are of good quality.
I'm 54 years old and have been horizontal heavy metal welding with this name brand and rod number since I was six years old. When you keep an eye on your puddle and weld at the right speed, you get a thick, pretty bead. It has a proclivity for running on vertical welds, which I am aware of and account for. For a strong, deep horizontal weld, you can't go wrong with it. In those situations where slag isn't an issue, I prefer it to my wire feed MIG welder. I use a 6011 or MIG to weld vertically.
Rods with a high deposit rate and a smooth running action. The price is reasonable. At a 220v input, it drew as little as 90 amps.
This is a fantastic rod in every way!.
