Questions & Answers

Can this be used to solder speaker wire and copper ?

The two wires are normally cleaned and thinned, then I would heat the wires while holding them together with my soldering iron, and at the end add a tip of solder

If you are using Rosin Paste Flux #135, is it non-toxic What makes you think it is conductive?

No electricity can travel through flux, based on what I can tell. With the proper solvents, it can be washed off after soldering, which is probably the best way to remove it.

This is what it is. Do you know what it does?

There are two views on this One states it facilitates heat transfer and the other that it makes soldering easier. It's the same for both sides. To further explain, let me give you an example. If the iron is too hot between the intended surface and the solder, it will sometimes "ball up" instead of flowing on the contact pad on the printed circuit board or sinking into the wire. It will properly do this if the iron and the intended surface are heated to the right temperature. Here is where flux becomes useful, as it increases soldering productivity by allowing desired soldering reactions to occur As a result, your insulation and other board components are protected by allowing heat to escape more quickly from the surrounding areas. Here's what I hope will help you.

If it's supposed to be really hard, why can't I brush it on like the instructions say? • The instructions say to brush it on but it's too hard to pick up anything with a brush. ?

To pick up the flux, you will need a small stiff short bristle brush. The flux is quite hard, but the hardness is not a defect. There is no need for paint brushes. On the connection, you need to wipe only a small amount.

I hate the taste
3/5

The taste of this was very bland on everything I put it on, from toast to cereal. The two tablespoons I used where difficult to swallow, especially when paired with peanut butter. All in all, I gave it two stars because it did appear to whiten my teeth a bit, but I would suggest only using a teaspoon at a time.

Flux is my first time using it, it's pretty nice
4/5

In a nutshell The following is the update for Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2021 This is one star less than it used to be. The only part I used was maybe an eighth of it. I ended up throwing it away. There was no difference between when I purchased it in 2017, and when I purchased it again this year. When it's not in use, you should keep it in a Ziplock bag to prevent it from drying up. This is especially important to remember when applying it to There is no need to twist or pull the lid to put it on or take it off. It just stays in place with *cough* ORIGINAL *I don't usually solder, but I must do some repairs on the PCB of my R/C car or quadcopters from time to time since I'm into the hobby of R/C. You can buy fluxes that assist with the solder process, according to my research. It is likely that I will try other types in the future, but I initially bought this one because it received positive say, it makes the process of soldering much less frustrating, particularly for those who are not good at it beforehand. Flux is definitely worth a try for anyone who hasn't used it The pros are Please note A simple way to apply small amounts of product-Br> There are no bubbles in the solder*- Despite the fact that a small amount goes a long way, I believe this product will last me for quite some time. Please note There may be residue left behind that does not need to be removed.

The Rose Paste Flux #135 is a 2 oz jar
4/5

In a nutshell The Rose Paste Flux #135 in a 2 oz Jar

Need to tell a full story for this review to be truly worth it, and why customer service is so important. When I first purchased Rosin Paste Flux #35 I needed an inexpensive flux that would allow me to do my usual soldering and DIY projects without breaking the bank. I received a reply to my email from the vendor saying the color changes all the time, but the product stays The next day, I had another jar delivered and I decided to test it since it looked similar to the first. I returned the jar and got my money back, but I had another one delivered the next day, and it looked the same. As for the video I uploaded, this is only a short video, which is just a sample of the tests I did with 3 kinds of solder alloys 60/40 with flux core, 60/40 with no flux core, With Flux #135, the combination of 5/3/5, and with all three Fluxes, passed through 805 SMDs as well as A 200-degree heat source was not enough to cause it to work well For two minutes, heat the water to 330o. The short video was created using 60/40 solder without flux core to demonstrate the true effects the Rosin Paste Flux #135 can have, since the flux cored version already contains flux, so this is not a true assessment of the Flux #135's capabilities.

What makes the difference between a novice and a pro
5/5

I am a software engineer, which entails that I do not have a clue how to solder, A coworker suggested I use flux for a project I am starting on a prototype board. Magic takes place when you use this stuff. During the soldering process, solder poured onto the pads and leads. You won't have to deal with solder balls anymore. Solder is waxy, so it's best to apply sparingly with a toothpick or dip the leads in it.

This container of flux will be used by my grandkids long after I am gone
5/5

Honestly, there is so much flux going on here. Before I purchased it, I did not realize it was so expensive, but I needed it so badly. My use of it has been reckless, but it has barely gotten I have to say, though, that it's pretty good too. Though it's not good for me to breath it, at least it smells good when it burns instead of smelling like a chemical cocktail. Simple and easy to use, it makes solder joints look good. Buy the stuff in a canister instead of a This can be applied using a toothpick, or (like I do) with the tip of one of those blue-tipped pencils Featuring a handle, double-sided Here on Amazon, you'll find soldering tools that have two ends. I don't care if I use too much because the product will last me Another trick is to melt it with the soldering iron until it stands in fluid form, then gently pour it into the syringe or suction it up with the Bulk syringes can be purchased on Amazon or eBay, or you can order them directly from us. As yet, I haven't tried that, but I'll consider using a spare blunt needle if I can find one. There will be a flux of energy After melting it, it will harden and work just fine, but be aware that if you blow very hard, there will be a lot of fumes.

Improve the speed of soldering
5/5

I've always assumed using flux is not necessary since solder has added rosin to its core. It is, however, crucial to use this stuff liberally over the surface that you are going to work on in order to make the job move along quicker. Solder was accepted quickly by the joints, and desoldering was also a much quicker process. The paste may be stiff at first, but I stabbed at it with a toothpick and was able to spread it easily. After you finish cleaning the boards, use isopropyl alcohol to remove the residue.
