to move the BNC video cables on the back of several DVRs with 16 BNC connectors arranged in a 2 row by 8 column array, which is near impossible to push and turn unless you begin at one side and work your way throughout it. An array with a 2 x 8 connector in the middle is impossible to remove without such a tool. Despite its quality, I did not give this product a perfect five-star rating due to the fact that it worked with multiple BNC (RGBHV) cable assemblies, where the coax wires were of a larger diameter as a result of the color-coding. There are coded strain reliefs on the back of each BNC connector. It seems unlikely that the tool would easily slide over that larger diameter wire leading to the connector, but I'm not sure if it could be modified to do so, or similar tools from other manufacturers would take this increased diameter into account. Wir tested our single wire BNC cable assemblies, as well as those that we made ourselves, without any problems.
This is BXQINLENX 11 INCHES (28. BNC Screwdriver BNC Extraction Tool 8cm Professional BNC Screwdriver BNC cable surveillance. . . A one size fits all design won't work for my BNC Connectors. I should have known it prior to purchase. As the author commented in the large paragraph about this tool, it should have been noted what connectors it would work with. I was just wasting my money because i only got I would rather not even use it as a door stop since it is the principle of it all.
Prior to having this model (Ideal), I had only a smooth metal model that was a frustrating tool. I then bought this one that works really well for grabbing the BNC connectors and turning them In my line of work, I deal with old equipment which has tightly packed BNC connectors in a mass of coax, and this tool proves useful. In the same vein as others have stated, if the stress relief near the connector is thick, then this tool won't do much for you. In the case of the old 3 part BNC connectors and even the new snap-in connectors I use seal connectors, and they work great.
The BNC connectors I had had a molded-in connector There is strain relief present on this tool, which interferes with its use. Even after cutting the strain relief the tool does not fit onto the BNC due to its small size. Previously, I read another review where a user stated he had to open up the tool a bit to make it It still did not work for me after I tried that.
I wish I would have found it years ago. *I understand that sheerness has some meaning in this.
As intended, the tool was a complete waste of time. My experience using it was that it did indeed remove the connections from a Lorex DVR When the tool was released, however, the connection would remain open. A hammer was eventually used to repair the connection after it was damaged by pliers, probes, and ultimately a hammer. Buy a different tool instead of spending time and effort to make this work.
I used this for SDI cables for video routing, and it worked like a charm, especially when you have to plug and unplug constantly and the cables are This is perfect. I could not be happier.
It took me a little while to open it up to fit on the BNC cable end, and it was still difficult, but I was able to use it because of the teeth. There is only one thing for certain, it can fit where my hand couldn't.
