There are two types of solder here lead and solder. To get the best results, find a formulation that contains copper. I want to thank Liz Renee for working at Nartique Glass in Casselberry, Florida
A deep black doesn't necessarily mean that it's true, it just blends the lead into the background I'm lining it up with old weathered lead (a super dark gray, almost black color). For your information Since I live in an old historic house, I really can't tell the difference between the recently installed lead and the 100+ year old lead in the rest of my It appears, however, that the new lead piece between the glass (or the center of the "I" beam cross-- Anyway, if you plan to use this and would not like the lead to appear bright silver anywhere, I would recommend coating the inner strip before installing it, and then reapplying it after. Once it has been installed, it needs to be coated.
The only time I have used it is to finish a stain glass repair, but after playing with it (rubbing it on everything in my garage!) I found out that it gives a rusty appearance to items zinc plated like those common bolts you can buy at a You won't be able to get a response to your question from me. I apologize.
This doesn't apply to the entire tub, but any metal parts that it may contain. The best thing to do is to rinse outside.

You guys In a nutshell, For our shelves, we had raw iron brackets made custom to fit our industrial decor. Initially, the welder bent the iron correctly by bending it that way and that would've been the best way because it is the strongest material. We had to come back a second time because they bent one side of the wall bracket and cut and welded the lip of the bracket (the front of the bracket). Having said that, I was annoyed for a few reasons. Although I knew it wasn't as strong as the first batch and 2, I didn't expect it to be this powerful. Whereas the rest of the iron had a natural black patina, the solder was an alloy that was bright white. Afterward, I watched videos on YouTube and googled all over to find out how to instantly age raw naturally aged iron so it would look like it had been painted. Personally, I am not a fan of painted iron, it just looks cheap, and the reason we paid $7 for each bracket wasn't for that purpose. Consequently, this is highly recommended. I did two passes. It does the job immediately. To use a sponge brush and keep this away from surfaces that might be damaged, I had two bowls, towels to wipe the surfaces, and gloves to prevent my skin from burning. It's always a good idea to do it in a well-equipped facility This is best done outside in a ventilated area, but it doesn't smell too bad. I'm sure that there are some fumes emitting from it that may not be safe for inhalation. My recommendation would be not to paint on this stuff and then leave it for a very long time. See how soon it transforms in a conspicuous area, you don't need much of this so 1 bottle should last us forever. I used a spoon worth of liquid for the brackets and hooks, and I am sure you can go longer if you want to. The solder worked great even on a standard solder so I would highly recommend it. Let's do one pass, wipe, and see what it looks like. Let it set for a bit, and then repeat. In addition, we did not want a glossy finish, which was exactly what we wanted. The finish is not black either. As if charcoal was made of ash. This is great! Glad I found it!.
My piece of stained glass is still a beginner when it comes to stained glass, but I really enjoyed using this method to apply patina to it! I noticed an immediate change in the look of the piece after applying it. It took just a few seconds for the results to appear, and I was able to see right where I had placed.
In order to give some lead free pewter items a patina, I used Novacan Black Patina for Solder. It worked well. I am very happy with the There were no odors, even though the instructions led me to believe there would be. The items were lead free, so I'm not sure if this was due to their size or the fact that they were lead free. I found the application process to be quick The blackening product cost $9 for 8 ounces, as opposed to $20 for two ounces with other products. I really like this deal!.
No matter how hard I try, this patina turns out brown and rusted looking no matter what I do. I was very excited when I first opened this box of patina and used it on several stained glass projects. Although I have used a new container and applicator as well as ensured there is no flux on the project, the rust brown color is still present. My studies about how to apply this patina to prevent browning have yielded no results, so I am still experiencing browning. Steel wool has been very helpful in removing patina from most of the projects that I have used The use of this service will not be repeated.
On an older piece I had done over 30 years ago, I applied this patina to it and it was a bit hit-and-miss We miss you. It irritates me now that it's in a window where it's very visible that I put patina on only the 'front' of the piece when I did it, and I left the shiny solder on the back. In the end, the old solder only became a dull gray, rather than black, but it does no longer have a shine.
I really like these products. They do exactly what they say they will Solder joints darken when exposed to sunlight. This method works almost immediately and is very easy to apply. The price was well worth it.
It's a very disappointing experience.
As my first bottle of this patina was contaminated, I decided to give it another try. It is unfortunate. Patina of this piece is also tainted with something that leaves a black or copper look behind.
