This is what I use to solder my stained glass projects, and it's great. It's a little loud, but it's not too bad if I use earbuds and listen to music. I decided it wasn't doing its job, so I soldered without it. After a few minutes, I switched it on. It has a significant impact on the fumes you're exposed to. br>br>I deducted a star because the arms and clips that come with it aren't very good. It's particularly difficult to move the arms.

This fan has some weight to it, so it won't be easily moved around, and it's powerful enough to suck smoke from across a desk; it's not a weak fan that needs to be placed extremely close to the soldering iron.
