As far as fuel is concerned, I use both Ronson and Zipo. In the plumbing department of my local hardware store, I picked up a 290ml bottle of Ronson fuel. As far as they were concerned, the Lexivon was for torches like this one.

This is a far better version of Dremel
5/5

In addition to this model, I also purchased the Dremel version of this product. They appear identical on the pictures, but there are a few This model is designed to have the igniter wire placed in a better place, and the bottom of the heat shield and the ceramic flame burner are not meant to be disconnected for tip changes or accessory changes. The parts are held together by a metal nut, and there is a black plastic ring/nut on top of the metal nut that holds the outer shield to the base. As it was nestled in the black plastic ring/nut, I didn't notice it at first, but it is separated and is threaded on both sides. However, I would like it to be bigger with a place to put items I typically use when soldering, as I would wish it were more spacious than the Dremel version. The unit comes with a total of 3 (different) soldering tips. While I didn't actually test the temperature, I believe this unit won't get as hot as the Dremel, or at least has a setting that's on the low side, which is better for me because I don't want to overheat the wire. In a matter of minutes, the metal tip and base of the Dremel model began to discolor. In this unit, metal parts did not rust nearly as much as in the one before. There are no differences in the materials used for the two objects. This Lexivon is better than the Dremel in my opinion and I recommend it over it.

A new update has been made. It originally got a 1 out of 5 rating from me. My problems have been corrected by the company after they reached out to me and did their best to make sure I was taken care of. However, I have also been working to show them how this could be improved. I have submitted a video to help them see the shortcomings in their product (this is not a paid sponsor and I am not being compensated in any way), but they are not responding to me. I feel very confident about this new replacement and I don't feel like it will blow up in my face as the last one did. Despite its shortcomings, I believe that the product has the potential to be a better one than what it is currently. It does work in the way that As of this writing, I have been using it with no problems and will keep the unit. However, I am still not a huge fan of the safety features, but you may be able to say that these make it marginally more secure In terms of price and quality, it seems like a good deal, and I haven't had any problems with the new one. This is a good place to start if you're looking for a reasonably priced soldering torch. I think it works better as a soldering iron than a torch, but for most projects it should work fine. Only the fill tube keeps it from being a 5 star rating. I ask the company for help in coming up with a solution for this, but once again I know it will still be difficult to fill and waste more butane than I would like. Still, I'm working on a fix, so maybe everyone will have a trouble-free experience. As a start, it does seem like the company wants to find out how to improve it so at least that shows that it is concerned enough to resolve the problem. Buying worse products for the same price or more has never been a problem for me. I would be very happy with the torch if it lasts for the same amount of time as my old torch did.

Definitely one of the best portable soldering kits! BE SURE TO USE ONLY HIGH QUALITY BUTANE There appears to be a need for a purer butane for torch fuel than the cheap kind found in store shelves
5/5

In my experience, after mine clogged and did not ignite properly, support told me to empty the tank and get a 3 or 5 step refined butane canister, and it has been perfect ever since. This one looks and works like a quality tool, so I'm looking forward to trying it out. The interface is easy to use and looks great Provides instructions for operating the machine. When my kids are around, the safety feature helps keep me calm. This is a highly recommended product.

Starting without a quarterback It is functional, but it cannot sustain a flame, so it cannot be used
3/5

It consists of a piezoceramic element It was not possible to ignite the electric ignition. If a soldering tip is installed, the mixing tube will provide too much air at all flow settings, which will result in a flickering flame. The instructions are written in "pidgeon English" and can be difficult to understand. A non-profit organization Due to design flaws and manufacturing defects, the product is functional. Some soldering tips are unable to be securely screwed into flame heads and leak a great deal of gas - It is a mixture of air and water. I scrapped it.

This soldering kit serves a variety of purposes
5/5

It's a no-brainer This soldering tool saves me so much time in my shop that I use it every single day. The tool is definitely of high quality. For the best results, use a butane fuel that has been refined to prevent ignition problems.

This torch is awesome
5/5

I love the storage case. It is excellently made, well packaged, and it has a good feel to it. The heat shrinkable tubing has been used by me to shrink electrical connections, and one tank of fuel did over 50 connections. As of yet, everything has been quite simple and reliable. The following are two minor concerns 2) I always use it with the catalyst attachment, but the torch does not fit in the case when the catalyst is My solution was to cut some foam out of the case so it would 1) the description says it does not include butane, so when it arrived, I attempted to fill it with butane. When I realized it was already filled, it took me a while to realize. We need to be clearer that it does not come with EXTRA butane, but it does ship pre-filled. The points of improvement mentioned above combined with the rest of the shortcomings did not cancel out a star. The torch is awesome!.

I'm quite disappointed because there is a flame hazard
3/5

When I shut down the unit after using it to seal 5 heat shrink electrical connectors, it burst into flames. I had been planning on using it to work on large equipment where conventional electrical power is unavailable (cabin site in Alaska). No one or anything was hurt or damaged beyond repair by the fire extinguisher, and I was glad it was within reach. My recommendation for this product is to avoid it at all costs.
