Questions & Answers

Is this a good way to do ?

Other torches have too much of a blast for the size of nails, so I prefer the tight and sharp flame of this torch. Throughout the years, I have used this torch on nails of all sizes -- large, small, glass, titanium -- and it is by far the best My dabber has lasted for 14 months with no problems, and I highly recommend it for your daily use. It is a fantastic value for the quality.

Is there a time limit on how long it will Can you tell me how hot it burns?

This torch burns for a long time, making it ideal for soldering. It can be filled with Butane effortlessly. As a wire solderer, I have had great results with it. It burns the wire insulation when I use my propane torch with too big of a flame. There is a lot of precision in this There's nothing I don't like about it.

The torch needs to be lit, how do you do that?

You will find a small piece of red plastic just below the big red button. Make sure you slide down this piece of plastic until it clicks in place. Hold the big red button firmly in place as you fully depress it. This is the point at which you should feel and hear a clicking and the flame should be lit.

Air flow is used to push the flame out of the nozzle of this torch?

Although I don't understand what air flow is, if you are talking about gas pressure, then I believe that you can adjust the flame. It's been a while since I've used it, but I'm sure that it can be adjusted.

Selected User Reviews For Bernz-O-Matic ST2200T Micro Flame Butane Torch Kit

I was quite disappointed with the internal spark button, because it didn't work with I hope the issues with the ignitor will be resolved soon since it is a pleasant little torch, but it isn't perfect for soldering
3/5

The push button spark flame ignitor would no longer ignite the flame after I put the soldering iron extension on and used it ten times to solder. In my analysis of the problem, I discovered that there was visible carbon on the porcelain part of the ignitor that caused the spark to short circuit across the porcelain and never light the flame when you pressed The only way to continue to use it was to manually use a BIC lighter or a match A real pain in the back. If you don't use the soldering iron attachment, this is less of an issue, but even then the button fails to light it at least half of the time and, in a dark room, the spark follows the carbon tracks rather than lighting it. As a result, I am surprised Bernz did not figure out this problem and redesign the product before it was released.

Please do not waste your time and money on this! There is nothing good about this item
3/5

It is not working out of the box, so I guess it will last because a "good brand" would mean it would last. I wonder if it will last since no product works right out of the box. The problem is not unique to me, I observe others having the same problem. In addition to other stuff, a friend of mine had it shipped to me where I live in the Philippines. It didn't come with a package. There is no damage to the gas lines, they just don't hold the gas longer than a few seconds after being filled up. Approximately 10 seconds after turning it on, the flame is weak and the gas is gone, I can't return it because it took 6 months to arrive here by cargo ship, so I'm out nearly We have spent over $ 00 and have nothing to show for it. You can't get a better deal than this expensive Taiwan made piece of junk if you buy a cheap mainland Chinese one.

Flame that is small and very hot
5/5

That soldering attachment is really nice! A couple of broken 6-inch pipes were frozen and I needed a torch to unfreeze them A 1/2"+ long threaded hole was formed with 32 screws that had been rusted into them. A piece of expensive tempered glass was just 1/4" from the screw. The torch was not powerful enough to do the job. The flame had a diameter of about 3/16" at the base, and less than 1/8" at the tip, which was a pleasant surprise. As soon as I redrew the screws, all was well It was hot, but I wasn't able to endanger the glass, and I made them wiggle! As a matter of fact, the margin of the flame was hot enough to melt aluminum foil, which I had placed under the flame to act as a heat shield. The flame's center is much hotter, and I am confident it could This torch was very easy to fill up with fuel (fuel sold separately) and it There is a chance that about one out of four clicks will not ignite. However, this is no issue. In addition to the strong attachment of the soldering tip, there is a feature on the torch that lets it interrupt the pencil flame so that the butane burns catalytically inside the tip. I have not yet used the soldering tip, but I There have been complaints that this torch won't hold a lot of fuel, but I found that to be untrue. It took me 5 to 10 minutes to burn the torch without running out of fuel after I filled it up. The soldering tip has been used for the first time on a high (+) setting and gets as hot as a 30W soldering iron. It takes a little longer to get hot. Honestly, I was a bit surprised at how warm it is. Although you still won't be able to beat the convenience of not having to tie up an electrical cord to reach an outlet Here's the thing A way place is a.

A fuel charge cannot be held by this item
3/5

The author of this piece. A fuel charge cannot be held by this item. In about 10 seconds, I can fill it up and it will burn. It is clear that either the torch or the Bernz-computer are malfunctioning A fuel nozzle that automatically adjusts for fuel pressure. The user interface might be the culprit.

A great torch is lit
5/5

The safety button feature of this torch is not liked by many people. Despite that, I am in love with If you accidentally pressed the button on a torch without a safety feature inside your backpack, what would it mean? It is now in flames due to a safety mechanism that was not present, which would have preventing it from being In light of that, I would suggest you do not modify the safety button.

Apart from that, it is a great torch. The igniter does not work for some people or doesn't work most of the time, so I don't pay much attention to this. You may want to use a premium or refined version of There are many times the torch will lose performance if it is used with cheap butane. If you're interested in getting Zippo Premium Butane, I recommend the blue color. It has been over a year now with no issues for me. As an additional purchase, I have a second mini-soldering unit. A complaint I have involves a return I received - it appears to be a reshipped item. My original unit was defective, so I sent it back and got a new one containing no defects.

It's an excellent product and I'm now the owner of three of them
5/5

It has already been years since the first two were published and they are Currently, I have three. One is in my garage, one in my workshop, and one at home. They serve a variety of purposes for me. I'm happy to know that there are still some items that are made to last. They're easy to fill, too.

Keep this torch away from your face
3/5

I was unable to use this torch. As I did not return it before the return window closed, I lost the cost of it. The closer I looked at the torch, the more I realized it was used. It is my fault that I did not return the torch on time, but I'm troubled that I received a used torch in the mail. Until I read the end, I presumed it was new. However, it was shipped filled with fuel and had the tip burned off. Buying this product would be a waste of money. Do not.
