It was a little difficult to attach the yellow funnel on the first time, but once it's been removed and reattached a few times, it goes on and off without much trouble. It is not threaded since the yellow funnel does not have a thread. You would have to retract the handle all the way to make it easy to attach or remove the yellow funnel. Since the lid has a heavy duty return spring, you need to really pull on that handle to move it back all the way.

Selected User Reviews For Eagle UI-20-FS Red Galvanized Steel Type 1 Gasoline Safety Can with Funnel, 2 gallon Capacity, 9.5" Height, 11.25" Diameter
During my 30-year career, I was the head of a large ground care department. There are only a few good cans out there, such as Eagle and Justrite. As an Eagle user, I prefer them as they have a low spillage rate and are easier to use. Fuel cans designed for Eagle have a lower center of gravity and are, as a result, less likely to tip over while in transport. That said, all fuel cans should be secured by straps or other means while Safety cans are a common complaint among many people. Certainly, some of their complaints are valid, but they simply have to do with the nature of the beast. These are commercial duty safety cans after all. This device shuts off fuel flow in the event that a can drops or that the person becomes incapacitated while the can is in use or that an ignition event occurs during the filling operation of a hot engine (BTW-- That's not a good idea, do not do it). In order to understand how to utilize a tool, you must know how it works. Since the springs on the self-closing caps are so strong, it is quite easy to imagine that an elderly individual or a handicapped individual or just a weaker individual will find it difficult to open and fill the The hole cut in the top of the funnel will make it easier to refill the can, as others have mentioned. A loose fitting funnel on an older version was easier to take on and off of the can, however the funnel could leak around the funnel to spout area more than a tight fitting funnel on the newer models. I like this setup, but you have to take care to clean the inside of the funnel, as dust / dirt will accumulate there. The can has a wide polymer funnel, as do some Justrites. Besides that, they are also easier to break over time, and require frequent replacement. Another issue with most safety cans is that they are not designed with a breather opening (Type I) which allows air to enter the can as fuel is dispensed (Type II cans are designed with a breather but are more difficult to use and more expensive) Fuel can flow more quickly in this way. The lack of this vent causes most safety cans to gurgle their fuel out at a slower rate, which can annoy some but is a compromise for safety's sake. The speed of this app is pretty slow, but it's still very helpful. The commercial metal can is an example of a much safer alternative to plastic and it is durable, so it will outlast plastic. In fact, it can last a lifetime and beyond.
I bought it after using it for a month, and after a month, it's still stronger, better built, and does what it's supposed to do better than plastic competitors. I will have no more problems with fumbling with a "spill proof spigot" that was probably just conceived to frustrate people. Instead, a simple captured funnel and spring-shut lid keep the contents inside. I haven't spilled a drop. It's a little bit tedious, but since I have to be thorough, I find something I don't like. . . Having said that, the only problem with this can is that it doesn't store quite as well as a square can will. That's all there is. In every other case, it is superlative and worth every penny. The rest of my thoughts are a bit numb to anything else. The can is filled with gas. I haven't used a gas can like it before, but it's better than anything that I've ever.
For my RV generator, I purchased the smaller 2 gal Eagle Safety can after owning two 5 gal Eagle Safety cans for several years. As a result, the cap of the new 2 gal can leaks, making this a hazard for users. A close inspection of the cap indicates that the gasket does not fit properly into the cap. The cap thus fails to close properly on the can spout. The gasket would not reseat - I tried resetting it, but it would not work In either case, the gasket or the cap are not in alignment. I tried to return the can for a replacement and Amazon told me (via a chatbot- Since there was no one to talk to on the phone due to the Coronavirus, I presume) that the can was not eligible for a refund or replacement. Since it was just received a little over a week ago, this is somewhat surprising. Because there may have been gas in it, I expect it will not be returnable -- The seller might be able to offer some kind of remedy if the product fails to work. I guess a buyer should beware. My money is gone - I lost $36 Therefore, I suppose the lesson learned here is that something of this type should be purchased from the local hardware store (where it can be returned and replaced in the future) rather than from.
Two the two gallon units (from Amazon) and the five gallon unit I purchased they were both from big box stores. Both units are covered by this review. The other day, I used it for the first time. No issues occur while filling up the tank with gas. A Velcro cable tie is used to hold the spout open when filling up the tank with gas. Similar to turning off your car's gas pump when it was full, the gas pump shut off when the tank was full. This is easy. Although I am not sure why and how other people are having problems with the funnel, it is easy to attach and remove. Fortunately, I did not experience any leaks. rubber gasket under the lid area where gas is released is attached to the lid with Velcro. The can was in good condition. I didn't find any dents. I would definitely recommend it. The product is made in the USA as well!.
All I have to complain about is the price, but, really, I really am just To be clear, that being said, I believe in using the right tool for the right job, and this is one of them. Over an extended period of time The yellow plastic funnel I saw crack at the base where it attached by friction to the can during my long-term professional use, but that was being abused by Arborists and Landscape Crews every single day. Homeowners will be able to use this product for decades as long as it successfully survives that test.
The firm still has a lot of swagger. It is disappointing to try to use one of those plastic gas cans with the spring-loaded lid I am sure you are familiar with the frustration caused by a loaded spout that looks like it was dreamed up by some idiot California legislator. Despite what it says, the device that is supposed to prevent leaks, in fact, causes a ridiculous amount of gas to spill on your mower, driveway, There are no longer any problems with this gas can. That's what I love about Of course, the fact that it isn't available in California is the cherry on.
