It seems as though "industrial" and "military" grade are quite frequently used as a selling point, as is the case here. Industrial grade is definitely not the case with these. Neither of these lights would be suitable in an emergency bag or as an emergency light in a house or car. The lights did not create enough light to do any meaningful work or to perform any emergency repairs after activating a few of them. Despite their size, they are barely visible from 20 feet away. I would have given this item four or five stars if it had been advertised as a novelty item for children instead of "industrial grade". The favor is made in China and is of low quality.

In addition to yellow ones, I had also purchased yellow ones from another seller I did a test of both and they both met my standard. A few days later, I threw the trash in the garbage, and a couple more days later I saw a glow coming from the trash. The blue garbage still had the glow to it, but the yellow did not. This seller is a good seller. I would buy from them (I use them to mark campers' tent stakes so they don't trip over them. The fact that it will last for 2 days is a good thing!.

It took me a long time to find quality sticks that fit my needs. In my testing, one still shows a faint glow after 12 hours. Halloween was a lot of fun. Obviously, my wife went overboard with the pumpkins, hanging about 20 plastic pumpkins from our I told her I wanted glow sticks for halloween. So she bought some glow sticks. Then I told her it would be great to glow at night on Halloween. It is good to have glow sticks like these. In total, the lights lasted over a day (though they faded after the first night), and their little hearts were filled with joy. These things worked fine in a dark room. You could read with one of these things. However, an orange plastic pumpkin requires a little more light source, and the lamp post across the street diluted what light my wife was trying to emit, so she didn't quite achieve what she was hoping for. While I would still buy these again when I need glow sticks, I don't really care about that. You can stash them in the camping equipment box, as well as in the car, for when your children have run out of batteries doing shadow puppets on the walls and you need some light. In some ways, putting them in a solid container and hoping the light will shine through is a bit unrealistic.

For Halloween, these were used to light up decorations. Within 10 minutes, the initial glow of orange dimmed to a very dim glow after a strong initial glow for approximately a minute. Within an hour of activation, it had barely been noticeable. It seemed green had a slightly longer duration of glow intensity than orange, but it was still not in the vicinity of what the chart described. Only about one eighth of the time claimed was actually spent on the green. There was a 16 hour difference between the advertised and actual duration of the orange. Having used glow sticks available both from the military and from the civilian market, these have by far been the worst in terms of intensity. I would not recommend it.

I bought one for Halloween, and I used it as a test. Checking the glow every hour for at least 4 hours (I went to bed after that! The items were packaged properly and came with instruction on how to store them so that they don't accidentally trigger. The service I received from them was excellent.

This bag was applied to the family scavenger hunt held at Cub Scout family camp to find items for hiking first aid kits for Cubs (and their siblings). A cord provided by the parents was used to tie a light stick around each child's waist. Using the light stick, the parents ensured each child was easily visible in case they accidentally strayed off the trail (of course none of the children got lost). The group leaders equipped their groups with flash lights, but they also hung additional blue light sticks from the tree branches above the 'scavenger can' As soon as the kids returned from the hunt, they used the light sticks for the campfire program, the s'mores desserts, and when they slept under the stars. In the future, I plan to buy this type of light stick again for its brightness, its durability, and because of its safety features.
