It is true.
Well, yes, they do stretch like bungee cords, but they are IMO stronger and more reliable than bungee cords in round form. From the day I found them years ago, they are the only type I'm going to buy.
These have quite a bit of stretch to them I believe I picked the longer one, even though I couldn't measure at least 6 feet. For the last 2 years, I've been using them in my trailer and they are still working perfectly.

I was expecting to find these to be much heavier duty than they proved to be. Although wide and very thin, the webbing is a nice, wide color. It is estimated that the bungee straps sold at Wal-Mart are about half the thickness of those at Target and less It had been my expectation that these would be at least the same thickness as Wal-Mart and the like. In addition, they are very stretchy, and the dimensions of the straps in the middle section distort noticeably thinner when However, they do not appear to provide any additional tension or hold benefits as opposed to the cheaper "standard" wide bungees. Though I like the end hooks, they are rather heavy and powerful for a bungee, I expected the strap to be at least twice or 3 times as thick as what it actually is, taking into account that it's described as "commercial duty" on the package. It was not possible to find these locally, so I decided to order them to find out what they were like. The 1 package I ordered was just right for me. For the sake of not having to deal with the hassle of returning them, I will keep them, but I will not order any more. My opinion is that the higher price is not worth it.
The lengths are varied and great. Hooks are integrated into the fasteners for maximum strength. Due to the large hooks being oriented at 90 degrees to the plane of the strapping, substantial thickness at the point of hooking increases the thickness by up to 3" on otherwise nearly flat strapping.
Do not put your trust in your gear. A very weak piece of writing. These straps should not be trusted with your gear. Twice already, they tore at my skin. ROK straps are what you need.
I have it stretched across a privacy screen on my patio, it looks good and works well.
