Can you tell me how tall it is before it is ?

A section of the lift that rises to ground level is included. The bottom rail height is the size of the rail. This is about 5 inches or 6 inches long. While the lift section is capable of rotating for maximum height, it is not fixed in place. The lower height of the lift when it is set in this direction is approximately 24" off the ground when it is all the way down
