Suction cups such as this one work on almost anything where you can keep them in place. If a glossy paint job is applied to a wall, that is great but ask yourself if the wall is poorly constructed or if the paint job is too thick. Whenever I have to lift something heavy or can't get a handle on it, I use these. Their smooth surface makes them ideal for moving cash racks and heavy furniture. I have to be very careful when I install fixtures being built because if they aren't built right you can pull the side of the fixture off if not properly secured so sometimes I have to take a look at the inside of the fixtures to determine how they are constructed.

I am in love with them! Wouldn't it be nice if you had a handle when moving a big sheet or slab of something really heavy? I can do it now! My goal was to be able to maneuver some quite heavy shower walls with two of them. two side panels (36"x75") each weighed about 250 lbs, and the back wall (60"x75") weighed about 400 lbs. Our walls were able to be moved without any problem using just two of these cups. It is a quality, solid tool that never lost suction even when it was used on the smooth, heavy.
