My house was built in the 30s with a stone basement, but over the years they added a 17' long by 7' wide back porch laid on a slab foundation crawlspace. There is a lot of strength and it seems well constructed. A short floor jack was required by me to temporarily lift and support a corner of my 16x18 outdoor deck while I replace a post. This jack was ideal. I went to the hardware store and got my lithium grease at the same time I was getting ready to use it because I knew it would be in place for a few months. A little while later, I noticed it was already nice and There is a lot of strength and it seems well constructed. The cost was well worth it.
