The jack is really smooth. Despite only using it twice, I have never had an issue with it. I've only had it for a few days, but I love it so far. In addition to its smooth rise and release, it also has a good release. The 2011 Chevy Colorado is perfect for my truck, and it's excellent for me. The jack is very sturdy and is a nice weight for its size.

There is no such thing. The picture on the box of the jack I received (look at the center section of the jack) is different from the one on the amazon listing, so it appears that the manufacturer may have done some cost cutting in what they are shipping now as opposed to what is pictured there. Furthermore, it does not even come close to being It makes sense that some parts, for example hydraulics and hard-wearing pieces like wheels and hardware, must be made of steel. as far as this jack is concerned, there are just two red side plates that are made of aluminum. There is almost no steel (except the jack handle) except that it is painted or powder coated. Due to the fact that I own a 3, it was obvious to me. The weight of the handle on a 5 ton aluminum jack from a reputable company is about half that of an aluminum jack of the same capacity. A few pieces of the product have paint peeling off (such as the section with the manufacturer's label on it-which is made of steel 100%). On this model, it is easy to determine which parts are made of steel and which are of aluminum. It is mostly made from bent/welded steel, instead of cast and machined aluminum like some of the pictures show. As you can see from the label on the unit pictured, it says “KTI63094A” (full aluminum), rather than KTI63094 (mostly steel), as they are currently shipping. Look elsewhere if you're searching for an aluminum jack for its corrosion resistance or light weight.
