Every 2 feet, the chain has a marker.
They are, in fact, substantial chains. I picked one up and it appeared to be a little more than 20 pounds, but definitely not 40.
One of these chains helped me move (drag) a 100' pine tree with a 16" diameter. It's not a stressful situation. I'm not sure what the breaking point is, but if the heavy wrecker guys use them for semi recovery, I'm fine with it being used for a 2-ton truck. a tree that weighs 3000 pounds
It's plated, to be sure. I can't speak to the plating's durability because I've only had the chains for a few weeks, but they are plated. I don't think rust would be an issue if they were kept out of the weather except when in use.

I tried for an hour with my bare hands to break these, but I couldn't. After that, I used two of these to tow my 10,000-pound tractor down to my trailer and around town. I guess they did their job because the tractor did not fall off.
Chains that are fantastic. They are in perfect condition. They didn't have any burs or flaws, and they didn't require gloves to handle. I cut them into ten-foot chains to use as tie-down chains on my tractor-hauling gooseneck trailers. I had to cut the links with a blow torch because my bolt cutter wouldn't cut them. I'm likely to place two more orders. Excellent value for money and excellent quality.
This is a high-quality product that will last a long time. The internal is solid after cutting one into three pieces (as shown in the photos). The golden chrome, on the other hand, is easily scratched away (as shown in the photo). I'm not sure whether or not this is normal. Coming in a USPS priority mail box weighing 60 lbs, this is a good deal.
They work fine, but they shorten your chain length. I ordered (2) @ 20', but the actual length on each chain was less than 19' 6".
DOT requires that every 2' or so be marked. I'm not sure about using these for trucking; I'd rather use an American product for that, but they appear to be adequate for farm use; I plan to use them for dragging logs and general tractor pulling. I haven't had the opportunity to use them yet, which is why I gave them a 4 instead of a 5 star rating. They appear to offer good value for money.
The only issue I had was that one of the chains did not have a grab hook on one end when it arrived. After sending a quick email to the seller, I received another one. I'm very pleased with the chains, as well as the seller's prompt and courteous resolution of the problem.
The chain is of excellent quality. Each end of each link is welded with heavy-duty hooks. I started dragging logs for my winter firewood right away. Every load was easily handled by Chain. Should last for a long time.
I'm attempting to contact the seller, but all I get is a bunch of automated garbage. This is a seller to be wary of. No one has contacted me about my two missing chains since yesterday's update. There is no way to get in touch with the seller! SCAM! Amazon isn't much better; I complained to them the other day about packages being delivered to my driveway rather than my front door. I'm getting ready to start a small business in my neighborhood. Amazon has served its purpose for me.
