A few things should be noted about this unit. It arrived with the crate The plywood plate was only held together by four plastic bands, and it was made of 1/8" plywood. Due to the condition of the item, the Fedex driver and I were unable to unload it from the truck in its original state, Sadly, none of the instructions made it, but all the parts did. After assembling, you will need assistance to set up the unit. It is a fairly simple unit to assemble, but it is easier if you have someone help to put it up. Despite being poorly constructed, I am confident that this unit will serve me well in the long run. Now I will explain why I only gave it I raised my self-contained unit to the height of my shop after it had been built and was ready to use. On the first side, the cable winch in good condition. A crane like this was purchased for my new garage, which has a 10' ceiling. About 7 feet is the height of the crane. When it is set at the lowest setting, it is five feet high. The use of ramps or jack stands was always in the way when I worked on my ATVs, lawn tractors, and trailers and I wanted a crane for that. It is no longer necessary because I can now raise or lower the entire unit as I prefer, which greatly increases my ability to work on the underside of ATV's and lawn tractors. It is not possible to fit the gantry over the tires on my 14' single-storey truck A trailer with an axle. It must be slid to the back of the trailer for anything I need to remove from the trailer using this gantry. I think it might be one It might not fit as it is 2" too narrow. A new identification card is probably in my future I would like it to work with a beam that's a tad longer.
So, be sure to measure what you want to use this for before deciding what you want to buy. Apart from that, I like the gantry. I'm sure you will have a hard time building it for yourself since it is so heavy. My neighbor helped me once I got the bag onto the wheels once I had done it, but I could not do it alone. A set of larger wheels makes it quite easy to roll. It seems to be not expected, but I was able to scoot it along slowly and carefully while hanging from it a 2400 pound knee mill. Two people are required to raise and lower the cross bar. The only way I can get it to work is to make it wiggle up one side and down the other. This thing is a lot bigger than you may think. You will need a place to store it. There is no doubt that it makes lifting and moving heavy items in the workshop a lot easier.
Is it too much to ask for them to print better assembly instructions? This isn't for someone who can't put furniture together. I gave up on step 6 and had to look at Amazon photos to see if there were any lessons. It was necessary to swap bolts from support tubes since they weren't clearly marked as to where they go. FYI, the bolts holding the header to the posts are not the larger diameter bolts as one might expect. Bolts such as those are used to hold the tube in place.
A little bit of it almost made it back. Pay what you want, and you will get what you want. A gantry crane rated at 1000 lbs for this low price was a great deal. My experiences with welding are not good. I've seen some of the worst welding I've Bean has some major dings that must be filed off before it can be used. If your rollers are obstructed, the machining will not be as efficient. Light duty work is usually involved with this type of job. The top capacity of this machine would never be reached. Overall, I am okay with it. There is a need for Titan to train their welders.
In any event, it IS feasible for you to complete this task on your own. Gantry cranes like this can be adjusted easily and have a nice finish. It has been extremely useful for me to move heavy tools and equipment in my shop that could not be moved without it. This crane was my first purchase and I searched the web for a week before taking the plunge My whole experience with this purchase was positive. You can equip the home shop with everything you need.
