Questions & Answers
When maximum holding strength is required, the coating needs to be removed at the end and a 1/16" diameter crimp sleeve used directly on the wire. If the maximum holding strength is not necessary, using a 3/32" in diameter will work. It is also common to consider the safe working strength of 1/16" cable to be around 84 lbs, which is typically about 20% of the breaking strength (i.e. To allow for a safety factor of five, 400 lbs) is needed.

The real dimension should be taken into account. There is a 1/8 opening rather than a 3/32 opening. As far as I'm concerned, the latter was what I expected, but I can't tell if the description confuses me or if I was shipped the wrong item. A monofilament of 3/32 is what I have. My local hardware store sold me an expensive 2 pack of the correct size to verify what I needed. In reality, the package contains 3/32 and that is the actual ID. It is made up of various I have no complaints about them. I wasn't prepared for these to be so large. The following two things must be kept in mind Firstly, the monofilament is sometimes messy in the cut, so the tiny extra space sometimes makes a big difference, too. It seems counterintuitive that I should be happy with the larger aperture, but at first it took my breath away and I was concerned.
It seems to me that the metal rope I have been using has a plastic coating and the crimp (if done only once) will pull the covering off and ultimately fail instead of binding. I felt displeasure when I fell out of a hammock a couple of times because the crimps failed. When double crimped, they have lasted for quite a while.
These ferrules are normal and I received a bag with 1/8 cable instead of 3/32 that was the only problem.
It is quite a thrill to find these BAGS of sleeves that are of identical quality at a much lower price.
They are great. I am extremely pleased with them. As a result, I made new railings for my stairs using these materials.
It turned out to be as.
On my decoys I used these for Texas rigs. They worked well. Instead of crimpers, I lightly smashed them with a small hammer, and there hasn't been any slippage so far even with 8 oz.
Intended to work the way it is supposed to. The wire rope's end should be slipped over and crimped using either a crimping tool or side-cutting pliers. If these clamps let loose, I would imagine the wire would break before they let go.
