As well as a long handle manual crimper, I have a hydraulic crimper that works well for clamping 1/8" stainless wire. I have tried both, but only the hydraulic crimper provided a rigid I was able to remove the wire from the manual crimped ferrule using pliers and some effort, which leads me to conclude that only a hydraulic crimper is necessary. Additionally, the cable should also be crimped twice if you'll be putting a lot of stress on it (over 200 lbs). The ferrules at hand are excellent and function properly, apart from the observations mentioned above. Additionally, I too have some stainless ferrules, but these are much easier to crimp, and I prefer the aluminum ferrules to the stainless ones most of the time.
In my experience, I have used these cable sleeves and clamps My patio awning needed to be braced. At the vertical posts of my previous patio awnings, 4x4 diagonal bracing was used to keep the sides from tilting, but the birds would build nests on them every year and we always had trouble cleaning up Although I enjoy watching the birds, the steel cable (wire rope) structural bracing does not provide a place on which the birds can build a nest. Steel cables fit perfectly into these sleeves, and they work very well to clamp them into I was pleased with their simplicity of installation and the final product looks great.
My first time using these fasteners was to use them in some fencing I would like to do with wire. Those are the things I will The crimping tools seem to work (I just got a Hydraulic crimping tool as well) and they are There are no quality issues for me, and I am grateful I have a good number of samples to choose from.
Our garden trellis was strengthened by my husband using 1/8-inch wire, which he got at the hardware store. These were the ones he got to finish the edges. He's used other wiring "methods" in the past which resulted in snagged clothing or even skin as I walked the rows when picking vegetables. I appreciate that to the skies, because I've been snagged before on other wiring "methods". I highly recommend these as they hold the wire well and do exactly what they are supposed to. The crimping tool was an existing item, so that wasn't a problem for him.
Nothing to worry about, nothing to dramatize. Pull the cable through the ferrule and hammer it with a hammer (the top of my vise has an anvil). Having the right crimping tool would make my life easier, but life is like that.
A pair of swages and we're I am very pleased with these hourglass cable sleeves, which work according to their specifications. Many cable ends and loops have already been used in yard decorations and hanging shade screens. We are 100% satisfied with our product.
