That ought to be the case. It has a lift of about 10 feet, so once you take the height of the heater into account, along with any lifting straps or chains you attach to it, you should be able to use it. In contrast to some of the inexpensive hoists I have seen, this one is very sturdy and well made.
In order to change the blades on my John Deere X300, I raise it with this tool. As far as I know, I have not seen My knowledge of these things isn't that good, so please accept my apology. As long as I stop it somewhere, the chain will pretty much hold it in place. Once I stop raising the bar, there is no drift. Perhaps 300 pounds would be the maximum weight I raise. Lifting or lowering the chain is done by pulling on the chain. By the time the chain reaches its stop, it has not moved at all. If you want to clamp the chain, then you could do so.
Steel rusts when exposed to the elements, so you shouldn't leave it outside.

The build quality of this product is very good. It is only 3 stars because it is described as having a 10' lift, and so does the description as well as the manual and the hoist. Yet, it only actually has an 8'4" A mat needed to be 9' long. In my barn, I have a lift. It's not very pleasant that the misrepresentation was made. It was a mistake made by Maasdam.
Looks like it is of excellent quality and works smoothly. Although this one cost a little more than one at Horror Fate, I liked it better enough to justify the price increase. The chains dangling from it make it pretty heavy, so I had to work a little to lift it to the beam I hung it on. Hopefully, the trip will last longer than I do.
I was pleased with how quickly it worked out of the box. I moved a very large rock using this thing and it made the job so much easier. Action that is smooth and flawless.
It has already worked perfectly as soon as it was installed. In the past, it has lifted from 1500 to 2000 pounds There's nothing to complain about when it comes to 1800lbs.
