Product Description

manually operated steel chain hoist can lift 1 ton (2000 lbs) and makes use of a 20MN2 premium alloy steel chain pulley system and a black oxide
The hoist includes a mechanical load brake for lifting up to 15' to prevent the suspended load from slipping back, so its application is ideal for lifting high vertical
[SAFE] Steel chain and swivel hook securely secure your objects and keep them in place.
Load [DESIGN] The chain hoist moves over a sprocket to eliminate lateral movement and easily achieve a vertical lift using no electricity or power source. You will always be in control when lifting or spotting with the hydraulic load brake and 45# steel gears of this piece of equipment

Questions & Answers

Do you think it is ok to clean the oil off of ?

It is not recommended to leave the chain totally dry, but because the lubricant it ships with is so gross, I decided to wash it off and re-lube it Make sure you lubricate the machine I found cleaning to be very Put a bucket of hot water and detergent into the block and let it hang about 3' off the floor Making sure the block mechanism does not get submerged. Using the same method as when you washed the chain, rinse it with water. Afterwards, hang it to dry and iron it Make sure to lubricate with a rust preventative and then wipe the excess

The hoist you describe has a brake, doesn't it? Do you know how well it works?

Although it is equipped with a brake, you should opt for a 2 ton if you need to lift anything close to 2000 lbs. During the lifting of the frames, we lifted between 1000 and 1700 lbs and the brake is already destroyed. Heavy work should not be done with this.

(Except for the attachment device at the top) do I need any other device to operate it?

The chain fall just needs to be hooked on a sturdy surface. With each pull of the loop chain through, the object is slowly raised. Worked like a charm. My ZT mower blades had gotten dull, so I was able to change them on my mower with this tool. If you receive the chains, they will be greasy.

The largest rod that can be inserted into the hook is how long? With a 1 I am doing well. Rod with a diameter of 25 inches from which the hoist hangs. Is this hook suitable for rods of this size?

There is an open portion of the hook that will accept up to 1" in diameter. In contrast, if a pipe is passed through end to end, a 1-inch pipe will pass through It has a diameter of 1/2. There is a cheap clip that closes the open part of the hook but it doesn't last. Keep the box under lock and key. Approximately 1/2 roll of paper towels or rags as well as degreaser should be used. Keeping things simple with When the chain is new, there are links on it. In addition, there is one cheap cotter pin that should be replaced before use. Aside from upright use, sideways use is also possible. There is no way to engage it, so to hold the chain if there is a load on it someone needs to hold onto it. This is a cheap hoist, but I used it for towing a motor boat. After pulling my boat out of the mud with my trailee that was a V8, I used the V8. Occasionally, it may get stuck sideways, but a quick backward tug on the chain will allow it to open again. It is nice to have such a long chain.

This is dangerous! After a few minutes of use, it broke! As soon as I opened the package, I noticed loose ball bearings inside the box
3/5

I was unsure as to where these A hook fell off the bottom of the chain as I was using the product to lift a mower deck to put it on a trailer. As I examined the mechanism more closely, I saw that there was a simple metal band holding the ball bearings in a raceway that held the hook to the chain, when the ball bearings completely fell out through the hole, there was nothing to hold the hook to My foot was not suspended in the air while it was above my head! I am very fortunate that this happened so soon after I started lifting the mower deck! The metallic band on your watch should be in place, and the ball bearings should not fall out. If you own one of these, please check it immediately. To prevent this, it would be prudent to affix a hose clamp to that metal band to ensure that it will not come loose like mine did and lose all You should be aware of this risk if you are thinking about buying one of these!.

This is the thing I was looking for
5/5

I had two eighty gallon hot water tanks in my attic which I decided needed to be upgraded to a tankless heater since they had failed The tanks from my home had never leaked, so I did not wait to find a leak or water damage before hiring a moving crew. There was at least one of them that was easily 300+ pounds due to sediment and another probably only weighed a hundred or so pounds (After soaking for over 24 hours, I drained them both to "150 lbs. "). Moving was not something that I could do myself, and I did not want to risk injury or damage to the house, I am smaller than the movers that came and they had no idea what to do (they were little and had no idea what they were doing). In the aftermath of their continued incompetence (by inadvertently backing into my basketball goal-- That's another story), so I fired them and looked on youtube how to remove a It was done by a smallish woman using a hoist tied to the roof. Despite going to home depot and lowes for a hoist, both of them were more expensive and did not have any in stock. Amazon is on hand for your needs. The next day I looked it up here and had it delivered with prime the next day. I was able to lift each tank by itself and swing it over the attic door or ladder and lower it carefully to the first floor. I have to do it all on my own. As I was doing curbside garbage pickup, I took them out on my dolly. This hoist allowed me to save about $250 in labor and removal fees because I did the job myself.

Product is excellent
5/5

It is a very good product at a very good price. I used it to lift walls for a tree house I am building for my grandchildren right out of the box. As soon as it was installed, the hoist operated as expected. Pulling the chain with one hand allowed us to lift the walls. I'm blown away! What an incredible engineering feat! Please note that it comes pre-loaded The chain is oil-smeared, so make sure you wear gloves and be prepared for a large mark on the floor from the chain spinning as you hoist. Pull the chains through a towel to remove the excess oil if you do not want it on the floor. Exactly what I was looking for!.

Upon opening the box, I was surprised to see that it was basically the same hoist Harbor Freight sells, except that it was In difference from the previous model, the chain is a little There is also a black chain rather than a bare one
4/5

The oil on this thing eventually soaked into the black. I'm not sure how long it will remain black. As time progresses, we will find out. There are 3 nuts that hold each cover on, and eventually they will loosen and fall off, just like the HF hoist. The cotter pins are thin, weak, and too long, so I recommend removing them and applying loctite. Keep an eye on them as they are weak and too As a result they might fall off after being hit by the chain. It makes more sense to spray a little oil inside every so often so that it keeps moving smoothly. Considering the strength of the log in the photos, it will probably weigh between 1000 and 1500 pounds. It is always a good idea to have a backup device just in case something malfunctions. That's why there appears to be a double hoist in the second photo. of the two is lifting at a time, but the other is just a few steps away from picking up the slack if it fails.

I've used it and it works
5/5

The door at the end of our RV garage needed to be raised, so I had to install a few new joists. It's so tall now compared to 15 years ago when we built the garage that we are considering buying a new fifth wheel. It will require me to cut out and replace the 16 foot 2X10's that are in place with a single, slightly higher beam. Seeing as I need to do this on my own, the only thing I could think of was a chain hoist. As I was looking for something cheap and with a 15-foot capacity, I ordered this. As a result, I have managed to do the replacements so far without relying on anyone else for assistance. My approach is to use a strap to attach the old joists to the chain, then lower them to the ground with the block. Then I raise the new pieces into position and attach them to them. The mechanism has been closely watched for loose bolts, but so far no trouble has been reported. Only 2 joists are left to replace, so I am thinking all is well. It is great for the purpose I need it for, but if I was using it everyday, I would probably look for a higher quality hoist.

There is no problem
3/5

While the tool functions as stated, the gear mechanism sounds and feels lower quality than the rest of the tool. In a class of tools that are already slow, the load chain moves particularly slowly. Harbor Freight had a 20% coupon, and I bought the haul master for the same price, but it is a lot more smooth and silent. The Harbor Freight haul master units might not be known for their superior tools, but they are in this case better in this respect.

The 15-foot reach of this item
5/5

With the help of this chain hoist, I raised the slates of a billiard table It was necessary for me to set a beam in the attic and to hang the chain from there down to ground level. A flawless performance was achieved. There was no struggle in raising or lowering these slates, even though they weighed over 700 lbs each. There is a little bit of oil on the chain when the unit arrives, so prepare to spend a bit of time wiping it off. There are no words to describe how happy I am with how it worked.

The quality of the product is not very good
3/5

It was all scratched up when I got it out of its box, so it might have been a return. The item I needed had to be returned immediately, so there was no time to return it. It is not affected by minor scratches, aside from a couple. My hook was hung up where I was going to use it, and I grabbed the chain used to raise and lower it. I pulled it maybe six inches before it broke in my hand. Since the chain is so brittle, it kept breaking when I tried to put it back together. After 4 attempts, the chain did hold together so I could use the hoist, but this may be a once-use item. It would not be a good idea to buy.
