A lower shop ceiling is no problem for this hoist because its extra 3-inches of headroom brings you a little closer to the ceiling. With my experience, this has been a great tool for lifting all sorts of items. If I were to buy it again, I would definitely do so. I purchased it because it is well-made and at a reasonable price.
