The diameter of the wheel is approximately 2 inches where the I beam rides on the wheel. Although the assembly appears to need an I beam with a width of 5", without all spacers, the I beam has to be at least 3".
As far as I can tell, this trolley has no lock. In order to prevent the trolley from moving, you would have to install an outside lock, such as having a pair of vise grips clamped on each side of the trolley.
It is true. There will be no problem fitting it.
I don't expect that to happen. Although they said it could be up to 7, it is not safe.

In response to the 2 star review I posted previously, the customer service department contacted me. The company asked me what they could do to make it right. We contacted each other and we agreed on appropriate I found them to be very easy to work with. They did what they agreed. My review has been updated to reflect the excellent customer service I received. I am going to give a five star rating now. It was great to get a response so quickly.
The original review is next One of these was ordered on behalf of They arrived at the scene and found an entire wheel missing. I discovered that the bearings had been damaged when I looked closer. My closer inspection of the other 3 revealed that they were all different types of wheel bearings that were damaged or covered in debris such as grit or rust. In other words, none of the 16 wheels had grease. It is the rusted grade 5 bolts which attach the trolley side to the main pin that are next in line. A grade 5 bolt with a diameter of 10mm has a shear strength around 7952 lbs. The lift equipment specified by the code should have a design factor of 5/1. 4) Though I admit that the bolt's shear force is less than the bolt's total shear strength, I would say it should be better than a grade 5 10mm bolt, and certainly not rusted. As far as I could tell, it was brand new as far as the paint was concerned and I found no.
An item like this was used in my garage for a common house support beam. It turns out the trolley won't fit the beam at all. It is important to make sure that your beam does not extend too far beyond A piece of metal through the two halves is used to secure them in place, as well as the hook. In addition to the self-locking castle nut shown, this also comes with two nuts that you lock together (I used Loctite red as well). Generally, the unit looks a lot like a tonner, so I'd expect it to hold a ton as it's Nevertheless, you must ensure that the beam you use has the capability of supporting a full ton on its flange, or you will My box did not contain any information about the installation, and it appeared to be opened and reassembled There were no loose parts in the container, although it may have been taped simply due to its weight. I need to use it with a 1-inch tape measure The chain hoist weights 1 ton. As long as safety regulations are followed, I am inclined to recommend it as a beam trolley for 1 ton. No, I do not consider it a "heavy duty" item.
There's a little bit of a difference in width between them. Be sure you are aware of the width of your beam. A Harbor Freight 1/2 ton weighs the same as mine. There is about an inch of space between them. Probably not where I have the harbor freight beam trolly, since it is different from this beam The paint appears to be a little scratched but it has been packed well enough so it might work just fine.
The replacement was even worse than the original. As far as I could tell, the first trolley I received was OK, except for a wheel that was loose and wobbly, and shucked back and forth on its In addition to the damage to the wheel, the ball bearing inside looked to be As soon as it was returned, Amazon sent a replacement trolley, which happened to have Upon first inspection, it was obvious that the two trolleys were from different manufacturers, the biggest difference being the way in which the pieces were held together after adjusting the width. With the first one you had a great deal more width adjustment, so you could fit an I-beam My 5-foot beam is wide enough to fit my 6-inch one, but the second could not fit my 5-foot beam There is a beam of one inch in diameter. I would have considered simply adding more washers if the bolt was long enough since it appeared to be long enough in its own right. Another trolley had the same problem - the wheels were loose Upon rotation, all four wheels gripped, indicating that some of the bearings were damaged. Two of the wheels also wobbled side-to-side. It would be unfair to ask for yet another replacement, so I am returning the second trolley.
This beam trolley is a terrible piece of junk that I just received. He had painted it in a terrible manner. I saw paint runs and missing paint on the box, making it appear that it had fallen out of the back of the truck at highway speed. But the rest of the thing was decent. These surfaces appear to have been honed with an angle grinder by somebody who doesn't know what they're doing. It was really bad to find out that two of the bearings from the factory had failed. There were two that rolled freely, and there two that were very tight and rolled irregularly. I did not like what I saw. I have returned!.
It fitted my 4" I beam, fitting nicely on my gantry, with There is a problem with this new outfit it does not fit tight like the older one did, it won't come off but is not as snug as the first. As long as it works, it will not return but will not be.
There is plenty of strength for this and it was a fair price. For it to fit properly, we had to add a couple washers. You should note can be noisy upstairs while it is being used, but that's the fun of it!.
This trolley is being returned to the seller after a poor weld is spotted. As well, the crown nut had a very loose fit. This shirt seemed to run one size larger than it should have (this is impossible). There is a welded piece in the picture that holds the 2 halves together
It weighs 40 pounds. If you are not lifting anything heavy over your head or body, the wheels will probably serve you fine, even if it is a good value for the price. If it wasn't for the fact that it can be returned, I would have given it a star.
