This trolley is meant for 5-inch wide H beams, does it work with them?

There is a small adjustment needed to make it fit a 5" flange width. As the bolt that comes with it is only rated for 3 inch wheels, this trolley cannot be used with any larger wheels. The flange is 5" wide. To fit your flange width, we recommend purchasing an additional bolt with a longer shaft and some washers from your local hardware store. You should use a Grade 5 bolt or higher.

Is this product compatible with an aluminum I beam 4" in diameter?

There's no question it will fit on the beam, but why would you want to - An elevator lifts Can you put an aluminum rail on an aluminum trolley? There is a chance that you may cause trouble based on what will be lifted.

It was well packaged and the assembly instructions were clear when I received it. No matter how much load the unit is under, it still rolls very smoothly. To have a unit like this over your head is a good idea.
